Yes, but you have to remember the actors want their faces to be seen, and wide brimmed hats tend to obscure that. Look at actual photos of working men and women from "the American West" during the 1800s and you'll see far more wide brimmed hats. -

Most people I've spoken with about the movie have never even heard of J. Robert Oppenheimer, let alone the fact that he created the atomic bomb or the style of hat he chose to wear, so I have to agree with you. Oppenheimer the movie - it's gross is approaching 10 times it's production budget... -

I think you mean "was". Still seems a nice hat, even if it gets relegated to the "beater" stack. Oh, I don't know. A little leather conditioner might bring it mostly back to life, and you'll have a nice cap for casual occasions.
