Thanks Marc - it would need to be a "44" to even stand a chance for me.
It's interesting that the US stockist - History Preservation Associates does not seem to carry this model, just the Roadstar, Californian and Windward that I can find.
I'd love to but having just recieved the new Aero, I have to resist. I am not buying another jacket. I am not buying another jacket. I am not buying another jacket. :)
The photos would demonstrate it to be. This color does drive my camera a bit crazy. It's not actually the Cherry CXL FQHH Leather the Aero/Horween does offer, however it is closer than one would thing. It really does not have a lot of "brown" to it. Other Aero's in Cordovan I have handled...
There seems to be a shortage of threads of dedicated perfecto/motorcycle style Aero jackets here, so I decided to start one off.
Back in Feburary, which seems like 2 years ago now, I placed and order with Carrie of Thurston Brothers for an Aero Ridley/J106 Motorcycle jacket. I of course did...
So I picked up this one:
Sadly it did not work out the best. Will Zach had no idea, nor did I, of what would arrive. In the photos the grain, patina and leather combined all looked quite good. I sure thought so indeed so I took the chance at the Buy it now price (which was not that much)...
That's a beauty! Getting harder & harder to find ones like these. The seller must have had no idea what they really had there! Treasure it - and enjoy wearing it once you get it re-hydrated.
^^I think it looks quite nice on you Tony!
If you think you would like it better lined - send it to Dena and ask her to install a nice flannel/wool liner. I think that would make it a lot more versitle, and looks like you have a bit of room in it for this. You would really have a one-off with...
A little more Eye Candy for you Monitor - Tony first ordered this jacket but decided it was not for him. It's just over a year old now and I have worn it quite a bit. I love it. Looks like JMax's was cut from the same hide. The panel variation is incredible, as it the smell and the way this...
Yes - at least in a few instances.
Usually for reason of fit - I don't regret it.
But for the love of the specific hide a jacket is made of, or unique features, etc, then I have certainly regretted the sale! Even the smell, as crazy as that sounds.
Pull out the popcorn for this thread -...
If you are in the US - I would certainly go with Thurston Brothers (Carrie) for fit advice, etc. See thier thread here too: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/insurrection-thurston-bros-official-affiliate-thread.70770/
It's absolutley worth any negligable cost you may incur. I have two...
Absolutley stunning! Amazing color/grain/pattern/and it looks soft - literally very comfortable! Very nicely done here to the Thedi team.
The leather patch at each armpit appear to help with strength and keep the lining and jacket seams from blowing out.
Welcome to FL and a great hobby! Just take a look around - and dont forget to check out the classifieds on here. Often picking up a used jacket first and getting the Fit correct is the best first step. If you need ideas - just start reading through the pages of What Jacket are you Wearing...
^^ Peacoat & Guppy really bring up some very valid points here. The only time I ever dropped a bike was at the MSF Basic Rider Course (yes I know) but I did NOT have on steel toes. I was not injured, but this exact scenario played out in my mind more than once while in this courses.
A steel...
