@regius A Star is Born!!!! This jacket just PISSES EXCELLENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted to savor the review as much as the jacket photos!!!! When something like this in life has so much anticipation and build up, so many times the LUSTER...
I watched the movie some again last night. One of the difficulties in IDing is the lack of screen time for the character and his jacket. Not to spoil —- but the character is only in the first third of the movie and wears the jacket in only a couple scenes.
I did catch more of the details...
File this under "WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG?"
I had seen the 2021 version of Nightmare Alley last year when it came out. However, upon re-watching it last night, I see a really cool jacket worn by the Character Pete played by David Starthairn. Most of the costumes are pretty well done in this...
Hey @ton312, if this one doesn't work out for you bro, you know who to call!!! I already have the matching pants and thus this jacket has become a true Grail Piece for me. BTW---they also make this jacket in TEAL but I can never find one in my size.......
Man, smart move by the Seller here---Think about what those additional $10 can buy these days!! Like a gallon and a half of gas in my area!! Imagine the shock when they realized this jacket was underpriced.......................................by ten bucks...........and the comfort they now...
I Love this post Terry. Its fascinating and kind of funny how these jackets get passed around by our little cabal. Between @tmitchell59 and @ton312, 75% of the vintage jackets on the planet have hung in their closets it seems. You add in the ones hanging in @Marc mndt 's closet and that...
^^^I'm with these fellas^^^
When it comes to vintage jackets of that age, you are gonna be hard pressed to find a pristine liner. Not impossible to find intact liners but many of these jackets were worn and hung up on hooks over and over thru their lifetime. Also, one of the stress points for...
They USED to be Made In USA. They used to be called APPALACHIAN. As they moved more and more into official police uniform production, they outsourced overseas.
The uniform industry understandably does not hold the same romanticized sentiments toward production of leather goods as do high...
Ebay charges a "FINAL VALUE FEE" that includes the price of the item COMBINED WITH the shipping costs. Therefore, the Seller is NOT getting over on eBay. Ebay is making its full fees. The "victim" of this sales tactic is the Buyer. This is a lame sales technique that I have seen a few times...
Long before he was tormenting Jamie Lee Curtis.......... and before he became Wayne......... He got this Bates jacket made for himself and never even used it. NOW, if can be YOURS...
Has alotta 30s Herc elements......... The zipper is odd to me. It seems big for the era and I would tend to guess its a replacement but the grommets are still there so I don't know if they just replaced it and creatively were able to keep the grommets intact or if this IS in fact a period...
I have a Vintage 60s Lesco.......... Tagged size I believe is 46 but it runs a bit big. I believe the P2P would be in your requested range. I can get you better measurements and pricing etc. if interested. Here is a pic. This Lesco brown leather marbles really cool as it ages. This photo...
@ton312 ----No Link!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!? Awww now that's cold blooded!!!! Yer doin us DIRTY bro!!!!!!!! This one looks killer tho......so I don't blame you if its in your (ahem!!! OUR) size range.........
I believe I stumbled upon a post from a couple of years back wherein you said something about Half Belts making you feel like ---- I believe it was some elderly actor or something--- so you steered clear of them. The quote was strongly indicative of your well known HATRED OF ALL HALF...
From what I understand Crown evolved into Coats & Clark -- (C&C) and the unique Crown track remained the same at least for a while. The pulls changed many times. These would match the mid to late 70s timeline I believe.
Hey Eric,
I have a black Longshoreman minus the mouton collar. Shearling lined. Tagged 44.......it seems to measure out a bit under what this one from Lopo has. I can do a little better price wise as well and shipping would be less too as we are both domestic. The only light wear anywhere...
I think this Hercules is an earlier version of this Oakbrook (the younger brother of Hercules) that @tmitchell59 is selling...............The main difference I see is the collar on the Herc is leather while it seems the Oakbrook is suede and it looks like the pocket trim on both of them is also...
