I saw Bruce with his Pith helemt and a few other riders at this years Tweed Run also sporting them.
As this thread has not been up for a while I thought I would give it a boost.
Do you do the zinc plating yourself? And if so, how?
I have a bike in mind for restoration, it is a ladies Raleigh bike, the paint I may chose french enamel grey as per the scouts cycling handbook but the chrome handle and pedals are quite poor
, mind you the bike is about 60-70 years old.

Oh, I ment to ask how do you find the pith helemt for cycling in? With the back of that design I find restrictive on up and down movement? And wondered how they are on a bike.
Yes, that was apparent and you chaps did a sterling job with those restrictions, some of those lights were green for about 20 - 30 secs if that, making it very difficult for you to manage. Thought you all managed to keep us all flowing and on the right track. You have to work with what you are...
There is always next year, Edward. En masse it is an impressive sight with some really great bikes and outfits. It is the good cheer by all that I find uplifting about the event.

I just picked up this typewriter in a charity shop, I have a bit of cleaning to do but I like the fact it has German keyboard and it's tidy size. I was going to just use the keys to make a sort of steampunk keyboard but cannot bring myself to break it up. I have no idea of a date for this thing...
The only thing with provenience is a small dish from the Tek Sing which sank Feb 1822, I do have a ming dynasty ginger pot but no provenance or date from a collector of Ming and Sung pottery. Other than that a small Roman mosaic piece
