I have another straw hat up for sale or trade. It's a center dent Wormser Milan, Regal Quality. I haven't opened the crown, so the crown height with the dent is 4" (front), 4 3/4" (sides), and 3 5/8" (rear). Crown opening dimension is 6 3/8" W x 8" L with a little taper. The tag fell off...
I recently fell in love with the '30s style hats, too. I'm having Parker at Falcon Park Hattery make me one that is 5 3/4" open crown, 2 1/8" brim. Debating on moving that up another 1/8". My limit is 2 1/2.
This was my first straw hat that I purchased in 2001 from Valley Hat Shop in Allentown, PA. I was just getting interested in hats other than baseball caps. Then I stopped wearing hats for quite a while. This just sat in the closet; I pulled it out during special occasions or maybe a summer...
I used to prefer a center dent. Then I learned how to steam my hats. Then I realized how much more comfortable a tear drop was. It got the back of the crown off of my head and it straightened out the sides a little.
