HEY!!! You just described my town! Funny...you get so use to everything you just mentioned it becomes commonplace and you forget to mention it.
Are all of your streets paved? Are's aren't, only 2/3rds are, but two of these are supposed to get paved this summer.
Around here that would be a city!!!
The town I live in covers a total area of 0.91 square miles. I can walk the town's city limit/boundary in about 30-45 minutes depending on my speed.
Jambo from South Central Kansasikhstan USA!
Yes - Kansasikhstan - it sounds so much better than Kansas.
I stumbled across the Lounge a couple weeks ago or so while doing research in regard to kitting out my vintage Land Rover for trekking during the Golden Age of vehicular overlanding...
Question....
What is your definition of a "small town", people wise?
Where I live we are lucky to have about 1,500 souls and a portion of these are those who live in the country but are part of our school district.
As to the original statement - "you know you live in a small town when..."...
Sweet....
Does yours have the rubber recoil pad?
Mine has Weaver mounts but a Lyman All-American 4X scope.
Unfortunately I recently found out that the one I've inherited has been heavily modified. It was made in 1949 and it was not originally tapped for a scope, nore did it come with swivel...
Thanks.
Following is a picture of one, on canvas, we found that's about 1/4 of the size. If we are able to pull it off it will have to be stylized a bit to make it work. In the long run mud cloth would probably be easier.
Chin-chin!
Cool...
I've never really been into the pistol side of firearms. However - I'm supposed to receive a 1916 P-08 and an M1911 dated either '17 or '18 (not sure which) from the same relative I inherited the Savage from. They have not gotten to the pistols yet, they are still going through the...
No worries mate - militaria isn't everyone's cup of tea; and many thanks for the compliment on the display and the Savage.
I have several bits-n-bobs of WWI kit that work wonderfully for high adventure in all parts of the world.
Following are a few pics of some of the vintage rifles in my collection.
The picture bellow is of my WWI Western Front rifles.
From top to bottom they are:
Berthier Mousqueton d'Artillerie Modèle 1892
Lebel Mle 1886 M93
Gewehr 98
Lee-Enfield SMLE MKIII*
M1903 Springfield
The following...
LOL
Well....they are rhino tough.
Only real cosmetic change I'm planning is a more traditional Rover colour livery. Head liner is going to be made of tent canvas with an old world style map of the world painted on it. The Americas will be above the cab and the rest above the tub. If not...
Jambo!
Greetings from South Central Kansasikhstan! I had intended to hold off on my first post and make it a formal introduction; yet when I saw this post I just had to respond!
I'm currently in the middle of a mechanical and safety rehabilitation of my '63 SIIa 88 SW Land Rover. Hopefully...
