Just got this new linen newsboy in the mail today, made by Capas, sold by Mike the Hatter, and really pleased! Feels a loooot larger than I’m used to with newsboys but I think it looks pretty authentic 1920s. -

My new to me Mallory 15 came in the other day and it’s an awesome hat! Cavanaugh edge, 2 3/8 in brim, very malleable felt with a great hand feel. Fits a bit small though to be fair I do need a haircut. -

Fedora brim width???
So this hat came in today, the one I mentioned in post 23 (Also posted in the New Hat thread). Might be a bit more Sinatra than Bogey, but i I like it. Certainly good for Jazz concert anyway! -

Came in the mail today, not familiar with the maker but it seems like good quality, very nice snappy brim. Thinking early 60s. Needs a good brushing and the sweat can probably use a little conditioning. Not quite my dream hat, but I kinda like it, bit of a Sinatra feel. Fills the wait for a... -

That and that crown, reasonably boxy and 5 in with the current shape in it…I tend to think it was either an old school shape made in the late 50’s/60’s or something made a little earlier. Or, possibly something that sat on the shelf and was sold as last year’s model, explaining the square box... -

Yeah, not taking it at face value but it would be cool if true. Again, a picture can only say so much in these cases so wait and see…argh! But it seems in really good condition and while, based on the markings, it’s probably a base model it’s likely to be better felt than most modern production... -

Thank you! Pouring through the thread again and I was thinking maybe early 50’s too, late 40s at a stretch. According to the seller the crown is 5 in and the brim is 2 1/4 in which doesn’t seem typical of a 40s hat but based on the liner pic it has to be post Stetson buy-out. Hopefully when it... -
