Well, I ended up buying it for $80. Not sure if that's overpaying or not, but we'll see what kind of shape it's in when it arrives. Like you guys said, I can always re-sell it if I hate it. Good way to sharpen my teeth on a-2's either way.
Thanks guys! I chatted with the seller (who sells primarily Cooper it seems) and he claims it's a trim military cut. Would you say that's pretty accurate or is it a baggier 90s cut?
I just found a Cooper a2 in my size (40L) on ebay and it seems like I can get it for practically a song. I've been looking at others (Aero, US Authentic, etc) for a little while now, but think this might be a good one to "sharpen my a-2 teeth on", so to speak. I want one that has a trimmer...
Thanks for the help! Doesn't seem to be a viable option for me either way since it would be significantly short (I'm cursed being 6'4") and they don't offer shipping. It does look significantly more "plush" and soft than my current one however, which is what intrigued me.
I do it's http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-WW2-Irvin-Lancaster-Bomber-Leather-Flight-Flying-Jacket-with-Bearskin-F-/252396650755?hash=item3ac4034103:g:zwsAAOSwubRXN3uS or if you look up ebay item #

Kind of unique because I've never seen a "heated" one before. Is this...
Found an Irvin online (which they claim is an original WWII garment) and it says that the lining is bearskin. This is the first I've heard of this sort of fur being used. Typically all I've seen so far has been sheepskin lining. Any thoughts or ideas, lads?
I just requested some leather samples from Aero and I'm still a little confused about the differences between the Jerky and Vicenza horsehide. Guessing the Vicenza is more of what you're describing as being plasticy and the Jerky is going to be more "time work"?
Very cool! I'll see if they will do that for me. That's pretty awesome they offer that service! Yea, I noticed the sleeve length of that particular one was a little hinky.
That's awesome looking! I particularly like how the collar looks when buttoned! Some fall flat and look sloppy, but this one looks crisp! Which contract is this one from Aero? The one that really has my interest peaked is the 42-18875-P.
Did you buy it as a "long" size? I only ask because I typically wear a 40L and the measurement you gave (27") seems like a long to me. I'm also looking for an a2 at the moment and wanted to know if that was typical of the Eastman Rough Wear.
Haha, I like how you've seen it on there too. I think that it's actually being sold by Thurston Bros, just on ebay. So sounds like they run small since you have to size up with the a-2. Which one do you have? I think this one is the Bronco and I heard it runs big anyhow, so you can see my...
There's one on ebay right now that is a 42L in that exact combo. I've been eyeing it, but only problem is that I'm normally a pretty perfect 40L and I don't want it to look baggy or unkempt. Do they fit slim enough for me to get away with one size bigger?
What was the end result with your purchase? Any pics? I'm brand new to The Fedora Lounge (this is my first post actually), but I've always followed links that have helped me with big clothing purchases (bought a beautiful Irvin jacket last year which was the envy of everyone in the...
