    I recently aquired this nice early WWII model 1917A1 helmet this is the same helmet they wore during the attack on Pearl Harbor Dec 7, 1941 also used in the Philippines, Wake Island, etc the USMC was still using this helmet in early WWII

    I just saw the classic 1954 movie "The Long Trailor" starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz and it has lots of retro early 1950's scenes Desi Arnaz wears a nice weathered leather jacket that looks similiar to an A2 it was a very good movie :)

    you should buy size 46 regular, since your chest is close to 43" inches a SZ 44R will be too small, plus you said you do plan to wear something underneath, so you do need the bigger size for a proper fit G1's are not cut "baggy" so a 46 Regualr should fit the best G1's run a little small...

    I walked 3 miles through the cold rain with my A2 last night to give it the "weathered" look lol constant wet / dry conditions while wearing your jacket should give it a natural worn appearance. I wouldnt put it in hot water, wearing it often would be a better way [safer]

    yes, it may have been a motorcycle cop's jacket? the movie came out in 1951 so it would have been an early style here's a rear view of the jacket, it looks more like a motorcycle jacket than an aviator's?

    yes, it does seem to be very common these days I cancelled my Paypal account my last Ebay purchase was not as described, but I just kept the item and didnt leave any feedback the coat actually had cat scratches [damage] on it but the seller described it as being "mint" brand new...

    it's just a Cooper A2 that Ive had since 91" I wore it a lot but it still doesnt have any character? it needs more weathering! this jacket has 15 years of wear on it, I even use to wear it to sleep on the floor to break it in when it was new.

    weathering tips I think I'll wear it when I go hiking and walk through the thick brush and let it get natural scuffs from use or wear it to the range and practice shooting my rifle from the prone postion on the gravel, to give it some charater :)
