I'm a nut for The History Channel's 'Modern Marvels.' Last night's episode was Strange Weapons. It included the 'puke light' that flashed an irregular super-bright strobing light that made the bad guy start feeling sick... Did you know that the military once came up with the idea of a 'gay bomb'...
Oh my lord what a double feature last night: 'Plan Nine from Outer Space' ...actually so bad that it's good...followed by 'Chained Heat'...gotta love those womens prisons films. lol
I caught part of this film a short time ago. There's one character that wears this great grey...w/wide burgandy band...fedora that I just loved. When I saw it I said to myself that it would be the ONE that I'd have Art make for me. I'd probably have to take a photo of the tv screen to show him...
I watched Robert Altman's 'Popeye' last night. It's pretty underrated, but I found it a delight to watch again. Shelley Duvall was the perfect choice for Olive Oyl.
Last night I watched 'Disturbia' (2007). It's a very clever film about a high school kid who, because of the death of his father a year earlier had become sort of a problem student. After slugging one of his teachers the judge puts him under house detention (the ankle bracelet) and can't leave...
Another odd combo I watched last night... 'Now, Voyager' (1942) with Bette Davis & a very-overlooked dark, hidden gem (with a sprinkling of comedy) 'The Frighteners' (1996) with Michael J. Fox. He's great as a psychic investigator in this horror tale. The special effects are incredible even by...
An interesting double feature I watched last night: Tyrone Power in 'Nightmare Alley' (1947) and Dolly Parton/Burt Reynolds in a film about a lil' ole bitty pissant country place with a reputation of being the 'The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.' Burt actually sings in it! lol
In a dark alley notorious British gangster Quigley Brown and his twin henchmen Reginald and Rodney stake out a rival's warehouse. The plan is to heist the mobsters' cache of illegal cigarettes...

I just watched Wes Anderson's 'Darjeeling Limited' last night. It was just released on DVD last week. I have all his quirky films (Rushmore, Life Aquatic...). His films are sort of 'like-em or hate-em.
