I enjoy it. It’s not his best, but it is always good to see Mitchum. The shify shady car salesman scene is entertaining; not much has changed since 1950. The cars are fun to look at as well. I always enjoy watching the exterior scenes of real life shots of life circa 1950.

We were both surprised at how bad Elba and Winslet were as we normally appreciate their acting abilities. The dialogue and story were pretty bad so maybe it wasn’t their fault.

I talk about my grandma and her cooking all the time. Every meal was magical. She always had a big garden and fruit bearing trees so fresh produce, jams, pies, and canned peaches were always on the table. Fresh cornbread every meal. Southern dishes, but not limited to... cooked with...
And a big ol’ goofy grin while eating it. Followed by a smile filled with yearning while remembering it the next day/ a year later/many years later.

Another night, another round of Four Roses Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon (Private Selection 12 years aged), lime juice, and ginger ale. The Four Roses was a present from my brother a while back. He is a very good man.
