For a generic WWII A-2 repro that's surprisingly good for the price, check out the WPG:

Fanny, I also really like Snowpiercer. It's one of my favorite flicks of recent years.
But not so much as an action movie (not really a favorite genre), as for its very clever metaphor of position in the train equaling societal social class. It takes that idea and really runs with it.
Sure...
I watched both new big guns on Netflix, Marriage Story and The Irishman.
I really liked Marriage Story, it's splendidly acted and sensitively written/directed, and tries to be fair in apportioning both the reasons for and the tortured pains of its divorce. I'm not a big fan of Noah Bumbach in...
D.C. Fontana, one of the major architects of Star Trek:

After working on Gene Roddenberry's previous series, she came to TOS as...
I was already an avid hat collector as a teen. These are from 1968-69, part of a series of pics I did with my dad for use in an eighth grade oral report about hats.
I watched the first ten minutes of that and gave up on it. It just seemed bland and bogus. And Elizabeth McGovern has always been more of a beauty than a skilled actress, going all the way back to Ordinary People.
I binged the new season of The Crown last week. It took me a while to warm to...
Sixties character actor Michael J. Pollard:

They're grups! Bang bang on the head!
Some reasonably priced possibilities exist. I've been tempted by this one:

And Taylor's Leatherwear police jackets are great for the price...
Wested's new website claims that 90% of their products are made on-site in England.
I think they are in a different position from most jacket makers due to their costume shop business. They're essentially a double outfit, still primarily making costume/wardrobe for film/TV production... with...
If none show up here, consider buying a new Wested. They are an excellent value at a time when leather jacket prices are going nuts. Just $233 for off-the-rack models, $264 for custom models (where you specify precise sizing, type of hide and lining, etc.) Who else is making customized...
I'm also a big Errol Flynn fan... but I love the 1937 Prisoner of Zenda. It holds up well, those clunky weaknesses were all there in the original story. (Has anybody seen the 1922 silent version?) The 1952 version is essentially a shot-for-shot remake in Technicolor, and despite some fine...
You can't go wrong with the Akburas. But if you're going to be using it as a working hat, I'd suggest going with the country styles like the Cattleman vs. fedora styles like the Stylemaster. Also, you haven't said where you are located, but if you're mostly in warm weather, I'd suggest the...
Fading, a recent dramatic film I liked a lot that makes for an interesting comparison/contrast to The Nun's Story is Novitiate. It's a far less idealized telling on a much smaller scale, set in the sixties.
I saw it at a film club showing back before it was released, haven't seen it since. But I liked it then, and found it atypically disciplined and focused for a Paul Verhoeven film. (Don't get me wrong, I like some of his nutso over-the-top films too. His output is... interestingly diverse.)...
I enjoyed the Ken Burns Country Music series a lot.
That said, I think it went a bit off the rails in the final episode. Why arbitrarily end in 1996? And why omit mention of important stuff that was happening at that time, like the ascension of Alison Krauss? The were important omissions...
Mae, that Kull movie was a cheap quickie made to cash in on Kevin Sorbo's success in the syndicated Hercules TV series at that moment. It's truly terrible. Robert E. Howard no doubt turned over in his grave!
I'm surprised there hasn't been another attempt at adapting Kull yet as a film or...
Sure. As you can see, I have a special personal relationship with this not-good film, and have researched it and watched it way more times than it deserves over the years! One more image, from a set of lobby cards:
