I prefer open crown hats so I can crease them myself. Others want a factory crease which look too perfect for me.
The hats I have that came with factory creases have all been tweaked once I got them.
The Akubra Fedora aka Sydney is a good, basic fedora that would suit your target.
Others here...
Fedora, raw edge brim that is turned up ala Art Carney's Norton character on Jackie Gleason Honeymooners show.
For me, a trilby would be a shorter brim with the front down, not up...
I looked but have deleted all photos of hat & noggin shots.
If you are set on a traveling hat, I'd look at Borsalino or Akubra versions.
The Christy's is very low crown & short brimmed.
You can get a good beater for a lot less have have a lot more hat.
Federation 4 in moonstone is a great foul weather lid. You can get it in Imperial grade where CD is only available in Heritage for that color. Glen grey is darker & less earthy, not as versatile IMHO
Still don't see an answer to how you had these hats "verified". Heirloom from Optimo is NOT always 100% beaver according to the hatter himself. He has mink added in, so it can be 100% belly beaver fur or a BLEND of beaver & mink.
