I don't have one - though I've considered getting one more than once - but there are indeed several other makers. Here are some:
What Price Glory - US AAF B-2 Shearling Flight Cap (onlinemilitaria.net)
SM Wholesale USA — B-2 SHEARLING BOMBER CAP
B-2 Shearling Gunners Cap | WWII Aviator Cap |...
So, I went back to a theater for the first time in two years to check out Eternals...
Okay, I've been a Marvel fan since the sixties/seventies, and have mostly been very impressed with how Marvel Studios has managed to reproduce the comics' original sixties innovations across their films/series...
I also watched Crazed Fruit a couple of weeks ago. I had similar reactions to yours: how very Americanized fifties Japan was; and how it seems that disaffected young people everywhere in the 50s/early 60s experienced the same juvenile delinquent/incipient beatnik state, somehow knowing that big...
FYI, it took three and a half weeks for my Bronson jacket to arrive from China via free shipping at Bronson's site. The tracking ended when the package was handed over to the USPS - I'd expected it to continue being trackable, but it wasn't. It took about another six days to get across the...
Brand new Bronson B-15C MOD. Just arrived from China with free shipping... three and a half weeks after ordering.
I am very impressed with this jacket for its modest price. It's much nicer than my old (bought 2004) Alpha B-15 (their then-standard model with the removable faux fur...
No love for Kodachrome, Turnip? I have stereo slides my parents shot in the fifties that are still just as brilliant as Paul Simon observed. Here's my mom and me in front of our photography studio in 1955 or 56 (just scanned four or five years ago):
Now mind you, the vast majority of the...
Dangerous Beauty, a 1998 period drama based on true incidents, about a sixteenth-century courtesan in Venice who was as famous for her intellect and wit as her beauty and sexual skills. Starring Catherine McCormack, Rufus Sewell, Oliver Platt, Naomi Watts, and Jacqueline Bisset, and directed by...
Yeah, that white savior narrative is getting REALLY old. And the whole chosen-one and/or superior bloodlines thing too.
I will see Dune eventually, but it's a low priority. I read the book in my teenage SF fervor... and it didn't especially thrill me; I never read the sequels. I saw Lynch's...
I'd already posted this on The Vintage Camera Club thread a while back, but it belongs here too.
I've been visiting a small local flea market on the weekends. As a lifelong film shooter, I always check any old cameras and photo equipment I encounter, and generally, they're not working or in...
I always strongly recommend Game of Thrones TO PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T READ MARTIN'S BOOKS.
My kids read the books. They really liked the show at first, but once it started really diverging from the books, they got angry about it. They got even more angry when the series' plotting went beyond the...
Lansky (2021) with Harvey Keitel as dying Meyer Lansky in Florida, recounting the "true" story of his life to a wannabe writer (Sam Worthington), with interference from an FBI agent who's been on Lansky's case for years in search of Lanksy's allegedly hidden millions of dollars (David James...
I agree that she's wonderful in that role. Night of the Iguana has been a personal favorite of mine forever, my second- or third-favorite Tennessee Williams. Richard Burton and Deborah Kerr are also excellent.
"Not now, Nonno."
Fading, I too marveled that Clark Gable was still playing the lead role 20 years later.
But then I thought about it for a second and realized that many of today's leading men, like Brad Pitt and Robert Downey Jr., have been playing starring roles since the early 90s - closer to 30 years. So...
I ordered one of their B-15C jackets from the Bronson site 12 days ago. As of today, the tracking hasn't been updated in a week, but then it was still in China. Their site claims that most international shipping takes around 20 days... but with the whole supply chain mishogas, who knows?
And...
Just one thing to add:
Mogambo is a Technicolor remake of the pre-Code Red Dust (1932), which told the same story, but was set in backlot French Indochina (Vietnam). It starred Jean Harlow and Mary Astor... and Clark Gable in the same role!
We had subscriptions to both for a few years. My parents were news junkies. We also had subscriptions to Newsweek, The New Yorker, New York, National Geographic, and others, not to mention free-because-we-were-professionals subscriptions to several monthly photography magazines... My dad read...
That's exactly the way the sleeves should fit, with the extended knits right at your wrists. You don't want them tunneling.
No standard-size off-the-rack jacket has EVER fit me that well. I always need the sleeves taken up. You are LUCKY, dude!
Five Came Back (1939)
Not be confused with the same-named excellent documentary about the directors during the war, this is an RKO melodrama directed by John Farrow with Chester Morris, Lucille Ball, C. Aubrey Smith, John Carradine, etc.
The year after Stagecoach, a similar planeload of mixed...
I dunno, I just did a quick look and I see HBT stuff listed at At The Front, What Price Glory, SM Wholesale, and Bronson. Are you looking for an oddball size or especially rare piece?
I saw that recent Conan flick with Jason Mamoa. It wasn't bad... but a year or two later I can barely recall anything about it, which is a bad sign. And yeah, it seemingly failed, I've never read anything about a sequel.
Re Ahnuld's films - speaking as someone who was already an adult Conan...
