Why thank you. Yeah, I suppose it may come close, except the frames on the shades are chrome. I suppose I could have gone with a more colorful tie but the black seemed to fit for some reason.
Cheers!

Here are a couple of shots of eyeglass frames that my Pop kept around, eventually turning them into sunglasses. They are his prescription from back in the day, I believe late 50's early 60's for both frames. One I will eventually add my prescription to for regular reading glasses again and the...
Ok, so here are the pics of the Cavalry Twill jacket.
Like I said previously, the sleeves need to be taken up an inch but other than that it's a keeper for me. It could make a nice mid level layer in colder weather and it's not too ill fitting that some minor alterations couldn't fix...
Well, the jacket finally arrived! No thanks to UPS. The jacket is in fine condition, no damages, but the box & hanger that it came with looked like they played tackle football with them and then drop kicked it into the back of the truck.
The jacket is a near perfect fit for me. The sleeves...
Well I managed to find a volcano bottle at our local surplus store for $14. Now I just need to find a couple of Swedish mess kits with a trangia here in the states.
On another note... My parents used to have in their camping stuff in the trailer some camping/picnic cups. This was our official...
I don't have any of their leather products, but I do have a pair of panzer trousers and the panzer cap from Spearhead, and the construction is top notch. The wool fabric is substantial and edges & seams are finished properly.
I would buy from them again. I think GIjoe here has some items from...
Funny how the J. Peterman illustrations are disliked, but the old Banana Republic safari illustrations in their catalogs back in the day are fondly reminisced upon. Just an observation. ;)
Cheers!

From the looks of it , I think it'll fit me similarly as my M42 field coat that I got from ATF and probably have that same lighter feel. A bit loose so I can add a sweater for layering. If I need a winter coat I have my Mackinaw to go over this. If the cuffs are the same, I have a local taylor...
So I wonder, did he ever utter the line, his most memorable line at that, "Yonder lies me fadders Castle."? Which movie was it supposed to be in, The Black Shield of Falworth (1954), Son of Ali Baba (1952) or The Prince Who Was a Thief (1951)? I cannot recall.
Cheers!

Wow, that was speedy Rick. Mine shipped Monday and won't be here until Friday. Can't wait. It sounds like from your description that the fabric is similar to the wool cavalry twill that Wested uses for their Indy trousers. Maybe a touch heavier?
Would love to see some pics if you have them. :D...
Thanks you folks again for your heartfelt responses. Yes, this is a tough time, but at the same time it is a huge relief. He suffers no more. We had, in essence, lost our Father to dementia a year ago, the many we knew & grew up with was gone. When I did visit him at his care facility most of...
I just ordered one yesterday. It was on clearance for $98 and they took an additional 16% off of that. Made it quite affordable. I will post the pics when I get it. Plus I managed to get my wife their short sleeve 1947 dress for $58. She's been wanting one for some time now.
Anyway, I'll let...
Thank you for the info VM.:) I may have to pop into our local Penney's and see what they have on sale. I rarely go in there since it isn't one of the better one. Sort of a Reader's Digest version.
Cheers!

Thank you all for your kind thoughts & remarks. Those of you who still have both or at least one of your parents, you are truly blessed. Pray for their continued good health. Never miss an opportunity to tell them that you love them on a regular basis. I don't think I did that enough with my...
