working on leather is tricky. requires thicker needle, better sewing machine, etc. They also have to try and match previous holes. Buying jackets on Japanese auction sites
easiest way to spot an Ebay proxy is to ask them for extra photos of the jacket. They will reply the jacket is in warehouse or something like that. Not exact science, but a good indicator. Earliest numbered model Vanson C2. 3 digit code. So probably 1984. Not sure when the "good" leather first started being used. Separately I found out my 50k numbered Enfield was made late 2000.
