I like the heavier weight and feel of the modern jacket. Helps keep you warm on these North Texas (22 degree) winter days. Plus should last a long time, as pointed out.

What is the weight of a quality G-1, and A-2? In pounds. Should it weigh around 5lbs? 4lbs? More? Does the weight tell you the quality of the jacket?
Seems like all of my leather jackets are heavy, I would guess 5 pounds minimum.
It appears that the "over-sized" look was fashionable (Trendy?) during the Indiana Jones Trilogy. I too am guilty of always buying a size "L", when my real size was "M".
Corrected that mistake now as I buy medium sizes.
If that is the case, it was ordered two sizes too large. I wear anything from a 38R to a 42R. My G&B A-2 fits perfectly.

Actually kind of a nylon junkie. Got a real nice Cockpit USA CWU 55P. Not quite as warm as the B-15. All of the nylon Alphas I saw in Frankfurt were first class in construction quality. There was no "country of origin" label, so don't know where they were made. China?

Yes, funny how you hear little about Alpha leathers. There is a nice shop in Frankfurt that has wall-to-wall Alpha stuff...nylon, leather, everything. And all very nice.
