Qaulity leather jacket weight? In pounds, of course!

I like the heavier weight and feel of the modern jacket. Helps keep you warm on these North Texas (22 degree) winter days. Plus should last a long time, as pointed out. But for pure warmth, my B-15 and CWU-55P are far warmer, and weigh next to nothing. Plus they shed water like a duck! Not...

Same jacket. Had several patches made, all with velcro backing. Easy to change them out. The 24th Inf. patch made by Sean is on the jacket today. It will never be changed out...

This was the jacket my Dad chose as his final jacket...it was made in honor of his service.

Qaulity leather jacket weight? In pounds, of course!

They are all pretty heavy today, as in the 4lb or 1.7k range (+/-).

Qaulity leather jacket weight? In pounds, of course!

Just weighed my G&B A-2, and USWings Signature G-1. They both came in at 4lbs.

Qaulity leather jacket weight? In pounds, of course!

Just got off the phone with Alpha. Brenda advised me that they weigh in at almost 6lbs.

Qaulity leather jacket weight? In pounds, of course!

What is the weight of a quality G-1, and A-2? In pounds. Should it weigh around 5lbs? 4lbs? More? Does the weight tell you the quality of the jacket? Seems like all of my leather jackets are heavy, I would guess 5 pounds minimum.

    Famous People in Flight Jackets

It appears that the "over-sized" look was fashionable (Trendy?) during the Indiana Jones Trilogy. I too am guilty of always buying a size "L", when my real size was "M". Corrected that mistake now as I buy medium sizes.

    Famous People in Flight Jackets

If that is the case, it was ordered two sizes too large. I wear anything from a 38R to a 42R. My G&B A-2 fits perfectly. It is not a G&B. The collar gives it away.

Nope...did not forget! Flying the Mustang, wearing the appropriate jacket, then meeting at the bar for a beer after the mission is over!

Well...there are two things that are important. Jackets, and beer. Not necessarily in that order.

There are so many places for a beer...try Pike Place Market for starters. Or, go down to Ivar's, order a bowl of their famous clam chowder, then chase it with a good beer. Is good beer easy to find in Seattle? Is the Pope Catholic?

    Alpha G-1

Actually kind of a nylon junkie. Got a real nice Cockpit USA CWU 55P. Not quite as warm as the B-15. All of the nylon Alphas I saw in Frankfurt were first class in construction quality. There was no "country of origin" label, so don't know where they were made. China? Hope my G-1 is as nice. It...

    Alpha G-1

Yes, funny how you hear little about Alpha leathers. There is a nice shop in Frankfurt that has wall-to-wall Alpha stuff...nylon, leather, everything. And all very nice. Here is a foto of my warmest jacket, the Alpha Vintage B-15, USA made: Most of the...

Had I not already spent the money on Alpha, Pop's would have been looked into. Totally forgot about them.

    Alpha G-1

A removable collar is a non-starter for us. I know a number of pilots who fly for Continental (United) that say Pop's is Ok.
