I jumped when I read your thread. The exact same thing happened to me when I moved to Germany! I had tons of tiny bumps on my forehead. They weren't red or anything but it still sucked. I remember the feeling. It actually started JUST before we left to go to Germany; I remember because my...

I bought these at an estate/garage sale. I paid 2$ for all of them! I was actually looking for sewing patterns. They had a sewing machine but no patterns. I wanted to ask if there were any sewing patterns the lady might consider selling but (from my understanding) she was...
Knitting and Crocheting FAQ
I am working on this fabulous snood pattern. I am not sure what size yarn or hook to use. It seems every pattern has a different system and my hooks and yarn balls all have different numbers and letters all over them. I am currently using a 2.5mm hook with some...
I went to an Estate sale this saturday! I never thought I'd find one in my area. Well it was more like a big garage sale actually. I picked up a stack of vintage knitting and crocheting magazines from the 30's all the way to the 50's (I believe.) Most of them are for baby but a few are for...
Thanks for posting this link. I was able to make the snood! It looks good, but it's doesn't fit. I'm not sure if I did anything wrong, or if my hair is too long. I'm pretty heart broken about it; I was so excited. Now that I understand the general pattern, I'll try to alter it.
Oooo that is horrible. I know from experience; I won't go into details.
Bargains/bargaining can bring out the worst in people. I love Boxing Day but sometimes I feel like I should be wearing hockey pads. I remember a big sale once, it was for T-Fal; people were actually trampled...
Yes, but I can stop whenever I feel like it - I swear!:p . Nice hats by the way. Have you made hats before, are they difficult? I'm thinking of trying my hand at it. I would have to buy a pattern though...;)
Thank you so much everyone!
That would be wierd - going through someone's house. I think it would take me a long time to get used to the idea that everything is up for grabs. I would feel like a looter.
Thank you for the links. I haven't found anything in my area yet but I am keeping my...
I've heard a lot about estate sales while on this forum and you ladies are always finding great things there. What's an estate sale and how can I find one?
I'm almost the same! 33-26-34. I've always wanted to be curvy though. I had a baby six months ago and was hoping my hips would get a little wider but nothing has changed! I was really looking forward to filling some pencil skirts. I've thought of buying those padded shapers but never went...
These look fantastic! I actually tried to make a snood from the same pattern but I had difficulty reading the pattern. I'm just a newbie at crochet. How long have you been doing crochet?
Congrats on the pregnancy! I have recently purchased some vintage Lux knittig magazines and they have really cute baby patterns in them. I can scan some of them if you are interested.
I was just wondering what everyone uses to make copies of their patterns. I use trace-a-pattern which I like because it's sheer and durable but it's getting expensive since I copy all of my patterns. What else is there?
It breaks my heart that there should be a thread about this. In a day and age where people can hardly be bothered to style their hair, let alone put some thought into their outfits...You'd think they would appreciate seeing someone nicely put together.
