:) Yes that's amusing. The last Aero I bought nearly two years ago now is too big. I wonder if Amanda thought most of the customers lied to themselves about their measurements so went one size up to avoid returns. I told her I took a 42R in most jackets including a 42 HWM which is a good fit...
There is also oil pull FQHH. I have a HWM made of mid weight oil pull HH and it was actually thicker and stiffer than my standard brown FQHH at first. All the oil it's stuffed with I assume.
It's a lovely rich chestnut colour and strangely it doesn't mark up as easily as FQHH. I say...
Thanks for the clarification Holly.
I meant my comment to read that an order now should arrive in good time for the next colder season when it will be needed
On re reading it could be read differently...
Fair enough, and I'm not knocking the style at all. Apart from the spiv. Just that most people in the UK then with the exception of the rich were very down at heel, as was the whole country.
If you remember Pinkie's gang lived in a shithole and were probably less than clean.
Blithe...
Pretty well worn and mostly fitted like sacks of shit when you saw them in motion in the picture though. With the exception of the first Dr Who's outfit.
The one in the wide boy suit ain't my definition of well turned out by any stretch. But I can remember people who stilled dressed like that...
Black casual trousers and brown shoes and belt is a good look and quite common in well dressed circles in the UK. With a suit it is definitely a no no though. As are brown trousers and black shoes.
Yes, it's very good. An intelligent and funny adaptation of a very underrated trilogy by an underrated writer. I think some reviewers in the UK didn't actually realise it was meant to be bleakly comic though.
Unlike Downton Abby which is just unintentionally funny. I only watched the first...
Brighton Rock is one of the best forties films, but the clothes are crap though. They mostly were in the real forties Britain which was on its back, and owed much more than it had after cashing everything in to survive in the war.
Regarding the fit of the cafe racer, it is slim fit by design I think. So Holly's advice to in effect stick to you suit size seems sound to me. You should still be able to adjust the sleeve and body lengths.
I expect you have been getting fairly terse emails which might not give the whole...
There used to be a box which appeared when you ordered where you could put special instructions. I think it's still there. I hope so anyway as I'm ordering a HB very soon and I want an extra inch or so of length.
I think they are just trying to keep things simple at the moment as they have...
Very nice jacket and fit.
Interesting that you say this might be what Aero market as oil pull. I have an oil pull HWM which does look very like this, and was slightly tacky to the touch at first. It was also very thick due to all the oil pumped into it and stood up on its own longer than a...
I bought one. But I ordered Steer and they sent antiqued steer so it had to go back. It was a 44" which was a little bit tight under the arms, but too baggy in the body. I have a 42 HWM which fits me very well by contrast. In steer the A2 would have been too hot for a UK summer.
I've tried...
Was there a particular reason that you didn't go ahead? I like the look of the so called Luftwaffe one. But it is twice the price of the Noble House version. It does look like a proper jacket though, and I get the impression the NH ones are a bit rough and ready compared to a top maker. Which...
Really. I didn't know it was going to be remade. Seems like a bad idea, but most remakes are.
Who's going to be leading in that?
Another post crossed with mine and the answer came...almost.
