So trivial, yet it really ticks you off.

I usually get up at 6:00, too. I don't need an alarm, I have two cats looking for breakfast to do that for me.

"1950's Half Belt Deluxe" Fur Collar for sale

Well, if I don't find a buyer, the jacket won't take up too much room in the closet, taking into account the other winter coats I'll be leaving behind. Thanks.

"1950's Half Belt Deluxe" Fur Collar for sale

Another asked for the measurement from side gusset to side gusset which is 25 inches. So far as I can tell, TFL can only post pictures from a URL. You can see the jacket on the Aero web site or send me a private message with your email address and I can show them to you that way.

"1950's Half Belt Deluxe" Fur Collar for sale

I have a size 44 brown Aero 1950's Half Belt Deluxe with detachable fur collar FQHH. I'll be moving to the Gulf Coast of Florida in the near future, so I don't foresee much in the way of opportunity to wear it once there. I see that new, they sell for $900 at today's exchange rate. Aero web...

You know you are getting old when:

At least it wasn't required that you go pantless.

And it's turtles all the way down.

You know you are getting old when:

I mowed my yard for the first time this year on Saturday (between sleeting). I'm looking forward to a move to Florida where I will hire someone to do it. As I approach my 69th birthday, I'm planning on a single-story house where stairs won't be a challenge when I pass my 80th (God willing).

    Explain the 3-Sphere to me.

Here's an explanation of Planck length: If I understand it, there is no distance (in the "real world") shorter than that. While mathematics can posit an infinitely divisible distance, physics says it ain't so. No clock can ever be more accurate than the time it takes light to travel a Planck length.

    Explain the 3-Sphere to me.

After giving this about 30 seconds of deep thought, the only understanding I can get is that light is a phenomenon of space-time. That is, it exists in space-time. In some way I can't articulate it seems to me that things that exist is space-time have a set of rules to obey, but space-time...

A drop of water on the head can be startling and mildly annoying. A series of frequent drops is known as "The Chinese Water Torture". Please excuse the term if you see it as AAPI, it's just the common parlance description.

Bridge Collapse in Frick Park, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

No, the "political" part comes in when you decide who pays for it. Who built this bridge, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or Uncle Sam? If the bridge isn't on an interstate highway (where the federal fuel tax is imposed to maintain it) then just who is...

So, nobody actually plays a flaut? This vaguely reminds me of a continuing bit on "The Smothers Brothers' Show". A regular cast member was the deadpan comic Pat Paulsen. In 1968 there was a "Pat Paulsen for President" schtick that went on for weeks. During one of his monologues he remarked...

I'm told that musicians refer to flute players as "flautists". Go figure.

    Terms Which Have Disappeared

For my father, it was "If the little dog hadn't stopped to void his bowels, he would have caught the rabbit." But he really didn't say "void his bowels". It was words to that effect.

    Bring me baggy trousers!

All I need now is just the right hat, and I might have found it, or at least, fellow Lounger has found it.
