Nice jeans! I have a pair of Onis in the original secret denim that are very soft despite the weight, almost like sweatpants sometimes. How do those feel?
I placed an order in Feb 2023, received the mock up and critique in Dec 2023, and will be scheduled for production sometime in the next few weeks.
I personally have found that they respond a bit quicker if you message them on Instagram.
I think the balance will be due when a production date...
Johnson Leathers is also a good option for higher quality custom work, but more expensive than the above. There are many threads about them here. I believe they can send a fit jacket first for folks unable to visit the store for a fitting. Their typical production time is about 2 months.
If you're considering the custom route again, have you looked at SOSO Custom Made Denim Co? They started as custom made jeans and expanded to jackets including leather. They make a Type II, Type III, and a Storm Rider among others.
Not as well known as the common brands and not totally cheap...

I had this one made up in a...
Took a field trip to JL a couple of weeks ago and saw some cool leathers on display: Suede Type III, light gray lamb, camo cowhide, Indigo deer, and a really nice bluish grey essex leather (this color was hard to capture accurately). Cheers to anyone who can pull off that camo cross zip
Thedi achieves that aged look through a process called “relicing” which involves washing and waxing the leather among other techniques during the making of the jacket.
You can elect to skip the process for a more traditional “new” look, which is why some Thedi jackets look pre-worn and others...
I think it looks fine. The back hits just where many including myself like it, the seam at the bottom of the yoke. It should look even better over time with more wear.
Field Leathers has a relatively new model called the Chicago which is very similar. I have one on order and I'm up for production but waiting to see if a few more leather options pop up. From what I've read, very good quality and Greg is a super cool guy but the current wait time may be a hurdle...
