I use to like a big brim when I was young but when I saw the Hag sporting shorter brims in about 1985 and it looked good I went to 3". Then the older I got it diminished to 2.75" max. Old man style.:):)
Nice thread. Since Resistol hat factory is right down the street I have bought many nice beavers in the last 40 yrs. I re-block, trim brims, re-style and such on new hats. I like a 2.75" brim so you know you have to do it yourself.
My Dad owned a sign shop from 1954 until he died (50 years) here in Dallas. The old Neon signs would last forever. 10 times better craftsmanship. They were made with porcelain panels. Now days they either use paint grip metal or aluminum.:mad:
