I'm up here in Portland, OR visiting my daughter and exploring the possibility of relocating here because I've had about all the heat and drought of SoCal that I can stand. Today we went to the Portland Art Museum to see a truly wonderful exhibit of the golden age of Venice's art and music...
Ah, the Featherweight model. I've got one, too, and was told by the H&H shooting school chief instructor that OTR it fits me as well as a bespoke double should. I guess one has to get lucky once in a while.
Oh, glorious! I'd really appreciate it if you would post that lovely thing in the Gun Room forum in The Snuggery . . . for the love of old guns, you know.
Jeez, look at those shell pockets. Has anyone calculated how much eight .577's weigh? I sure as heck don't want that clanking around my midsection while I'm trying to move quietly through the jess and the waitabit bushes.
At this year's Safari Club International convention in Las Vegas, I met Gary Nesse and spoke to him about his hunting clothing. I was immensely impressed. Gary has put a lot of thought into his Ultimate Jacket and it looks like he's put the same amount of thought into his bush jacket. For...
Man, that is one strange looking shotgun. But it seems to work and beauty is as beauty does, they say. Nice find. If you're in the southern half of the state, give me a PM and we'll go break a clay or two.

I have one that my grandfather carried on parade when he was in the Elks drill team. It's nickle plated and the bore is absolutely dead. I'm giving some thought to pulling the action and rebarreling and restocking it into a classic "Gemmer", a Hawken style sporter. Phil Spangenberger says...
I understand that another way to make your DI go ballistic is to refer to male lower outerwear as "pants" rather than trousers. In the Army we were never so fastidious, at least in my hearing. Come to think of it, firearms were always referred to as 'weapons' back in my Viet Nam era BCT . . .
Personally I believe in both the 'common courtesy' aspect and the idea that the public is better off when the criminals don't know who's armed. Yes it's a right, okay? But the responsibility that goes with the right is equally important and I'd rather not have jittery neighbors.
