Yeah, I know what you mean. Originals (at least in photos) seem to be wide enough to fit chubby/stocky men, but GregGale is thinner than the average USAF guy from the 1950s and this Bronson fits him pretty trimly. Buzz stuff (in photos) does seem to have sleeves with less taper to the cuff than...
This series is great and for me at least it captures the whole Marlowe tone and look and seediness, especially in the first season. There's a million snappy one-liners to memorize. Powers Boothe is excellent and he has a great supporting cast. I expect to watch this series every year going...
Can someone comment on what the foldaway hoods are like? Are they made from the same material as the jacket shell, or are they thin nylon? I prefer the former, not suprisingly, and tend to avoid thin, fimsy "rain hoods". Thanks.
Yeah, that was a great movie. The best of the series, in my opinion, esp since it can stand alone on its merits as an action film irrespective of it being a Bond film.
I'm too lazy to find my post about the Irishman but I had originally seen part of it while waiting in my barber's shop. He's a big movie buff and always has something playing. I haven't seen the whole thing yet, but what I had seen looked really bad visually, washed out and looking like it was...
William Friedkin's 1977 film Sorcerer. Got a copy on dvd last year and sat their with my mouth open the whole movie struggling to believe a movie like that had been made.
That's really interesting. Alpha must have been doing a special run of jackets for that retailer, with the green lining instead of orange, for whatever organization required those jackets as part of their uniform. I'll have to keep an eye out for one!
Jimmy Stewart in the film Strategic Air Command, which has tons of atomic-armed bomber porn and blue nylon porn (winter and summer weight). If you haven't seen it yet, try to. Stewart is wearing an L2A in these photos. You can see how short the waist is on them, for wear over a flight suit of...
Everyone whines about the length on modern-day A2 jackets, but the originals were kinda short and look best with your grandfather's pants pulled up high.
The three stripes on the tag mean it's a civilian jacket, but it's a rare one, since 99.99% of Alpha civilian jackets had the orange lining and no mention of "ground crew only". If you ever sell it someday make sure to make those points in your description.
Common problem for anyone who's tall...
