** SOLD ** I bought this cap from U.S. Wings a few years ago and it has never been worn – it has mostly sat in the closet ever since. From the outside it is a pretty good replica of MacArthur’s cap and embroidered insignia and markings. I changed the chin strap to a real bullion one after I...
** SOLD ** The purge of size 7-3/8 and rarely worn hats from my collection continues. This is a size 7-3/8 1960s-1970s Resistol western, 3X felt, in silverbelly. The hat is in like-new condition and appears to have been worn very little. The hat has a tied ribbon band, an approximately 5”...
** SOLD ** The purge of size 7-3/8 and rarely worn hats from my collection continues. This is a Stacy Adams Homberg fur felt in grey, with a grey ribbon-bound brim, and a black ribbon. The photo of the interior shows the color most accurately I bought the hat a few years ago and it has never...
** SOLD ** The purge of size 7-3/8 and rarely worn hats from my collection continues. This is a size 7-3/8 1970s Stetson Rancher 4X felt in an olive green color. The hat is in like-new condition and has been cleaned and re-blocked by Paris Hatters in San Antonio. The hat has a tool brown...
I always wanted a leather jacket when I was kid, but never got one. Once I started working after high school, I got two - a brown "Member's Only" style jacket and a leather blazer - both from fine establishments in the Mall (hey, it was the early '80s). My first "good" leather jacket was my...
My one-size-up replacement taupe fawn Campdraft arrived on New Year's Eve after a two month backorder. Very happy with the new one & this one ended up with a diamond crease. Here it is just in from some time in the rain.
With a “feels like” temperature of 21 degrees in San Antonio this morning, I wore my Mossi Motorsports Apparel “ANJ-3” – not historically accurate, but really well-made, comfortable, and much warmer than my goatskin jackets.
My Army retirement gift (from me) – the Commander-sized Kimber Pro Carry II in .45 ACP. It came with factory black rubber grips and I recently added these Kimber Rosewood Army grips.
I picked up a Rossi M92 SRC in .38/.357 last year and then spent more than I paid for the gun getting an action job, new springs & sights, getting the safety removed/plugged, stock refinished, etc., by Steve Young at Steve's Gunz near Lampasas, TX. Steve is a true gentleman and a fantastic...
Here is my “new to me” 1960s “Mallory by Stetson” western. I bought it recently in the original box and it appeared to be unworn, but a little dirty and had a moth nip or two. I took it to Paris Hatters in San Antonio and had them clean it, trim the brim to 3”, and replace the string band with...
Merry Christmas everyone! Today I am wearing my “new to me” 1960s “Mallory by Stetson” western. I bought it recently in the original box and it appeared to be unworn, but a moth nip or two. I had Paris Hatters in San Antonio clean it, trim the brim to 3”, and replace the string band with a new...
Great photo! What I found interesting is that all but two of these Texans are wearing hats (one has it in his lap & the other likely has one somewhere close by) but I only see one pair of boots - all the rest are low-quarter shoes. And the only pair of boots are lace-up boots like modern Ropers.
The four legs do work MUCH better - I just bought the wrong number of door stops and a couple ended up with only three legs. I usually pick up the hat to loosen the stretcher so that hasn't been a huge issue for me.
