The rest of the jacket fits well. I’d wear it for 6 months in different weathers, let the sleeves ride up and (if they’re still a little long) get it to a decent tailor and get them shortened to fit.
I had contemplated a Freewheelers Journeyman in jet black deerskin, but having read the comments about colour bleed, I think that I’ll play it safe and opt for horsehide.
I really like the Northlander and was really tempted (but I’ve decided to go for the Journeyman). Apparently, this is the last year of production for the Northlander so if you want one better move quickly!
I bought a Ralph Lauren pre-War, 10-button version of the peacoat from an FL member a couple of years ago for a very good price. It doesn’t have the absolutely obsessive attention to detail of the Freewheelers or the Real McCoys versions, but at less than a 10th of the cost, I’m happy to live...
