Hello all,
I've decided to sell my Eastman jackets to fund some next purchases. This is a beautiful G-1 that's seen a little bit of use for the last 3 years, but shows no real signs of 'wear and tear'. The only thing that probably needs replacing are the knits, as they have been repaired once...
Hi guys,
I'm selling my ANJ-4. I love it but I don't believe it's right for me, that's why I'm letting it go. It's an early 1990's jacket with beautiful Fenland sheepskin and has some light wear and tear, of which I will add some pictures. It's a truly fantastic jacket for the right person...
Exactly, problem is that these services are often not that connected with fora or enthousiasts, which means they can be looked over though they provide what we are looking for. Interesting paradox
That is a great tip, in fact I just looked around for bootmakers and found exactly what I was looking for; a maker that uses the existing holes with a fine needle. Awesome, thanks for the advice!
I did find someone, but I'm afraid the type of needle they use (from the pictures I've seen from handbags) would punch big holes in the jacket, something I want to avoid at all costs. If that gentleman in Sweden can do a great job, I'm sending it to him to avoid being unhappy with the repair...
Yes, there are some here but as the windflap and the triangle reinforcement probably need to be temporarily removed I’d like an absolute expert, not just someone who does leather jackets as an ‘extra’ (as they won’t have the right threads/sewing machines)
I will definitely take a look at that...
Hi all,
My ANJ-4 desperately needs a zip replacement, but sending it back to Eastman is currently not an option as I live in Belgium. Does anyone have tips on a great repairer based in the EU?
True, however the reason I'm going with Goodwear (and its slightly custom nature) is that it might be a better adjustment to my not so standard proportions (big hips, so waist knit is always a problem such as in my G-1).
Hi guys, I've decided on going with Goodwear as their wait-times are currently about a year. I've sent John an email to be sure and to pick a pattern, but I'd like to go all out if I'm going to spend that amount of money on a jacket. The wait might be long, but at least I'll be completely...
I might just visit Eastman's showroom in the summer and wear the jacket on the way back as my ANJ-4 also needs a zip replacement. Hopefully customs lets me slide
Lovely jacket, but it's a 46 which would make it a bit too big for me. Also, all leather I currently have is seal/dark seal so some variation is desperately needed haha
Aero is a great company, but I personally don't really like the look of some of their A-2's. Just my opinion though. Eastman's A-2's just seem 'better' to my, admittedly untrained, eyes.
I really like Eastman, that's why my first choice would be them (I already own their G-1 and an old Fenland ANJ-4, both in a regular 42). However, because of Brexit I'd effectively pay around 1550 euros for an original maker jacket, which would be 600 euros more than a BK. As much as I like...
Wow okay, a lot to unpack here, thanks for answering extensively! I indeed do not want to take a risk with VAT, I'd like it to be perfect from the start (then again, doesn't everyone haha).
I'll happily pay a little more for great stitching/accuracy so maybe Eastman/BK might be better after all...
I do like a trim fit, but not that much that I can't properly move my arms. I intend to wear it open for most of the time, so a Werber would also work. The HLB contract looks amazing as well, and has the added length. Problem for me is that I live in Europe and can't get a wide variety of ELC...
