I bought the pattern and some royal blue and black old school flannel twill. I am going to use it for fall and winter with a cardigan over it and a belt. Also that way if I get hot I have short sleeves underneath .
Honestly if you want 1940s I say go with it. But do a style where you hair is down, and the traditional makeup from the time. I think that the very polished 1940s look will look lovely with that style dress. But I like to mix styles.
