Quick question, with a hopefully quick answer- is the yellow hood the only difference between the standard RAF Irvin and the Coastal Command version?
I know the number of panels used in constructing the jackets increased with time, that really isn't what I am wondering.

I am wondering that too. Just the fact that they are there instead of leather cuffs and a leather lower band with elastic? Or are you seeing a problem in the knits others are missing?
I am seriously considering a Five Star Irvin, but I am concerned about length measurements. Any thoughts on how a USN M444 jacket fits compared to an Irvin? An M444 is the only shearling jacket I have access to.
Same guy that sent him the original 40/41 style Irvin included a Coastal Command example in the shipment, according to info in the threads on Facebook.
Suggestions for cleaning grime off of the lining, short of tossing it in the washing machine, please.
