    Thanks, Peacoat - great information! So should my 1969 D series Martin Lane be goatskin? It appears to be cowhide to me, since the leather is much stiffer than my 1970 Brill Bros. I have a hard time determining just from look and feel what is cow or goat, or between wool and Dynal collars.

    THanks, Marro! The jacket is in pretty good shape for a 1970 issue, so I'll probably just clean the collar with Woolite, the jacket with Lexol and then give it a good coat of Pecard's.

    I've read several threads on here about washing leather jackets to help clean and restore them. Would washing and air drying cause a goatskin or cowhide G-1 to shrink to any degree??

    The jacket in question is a Brill Bros. G1, with a label that reads 'DSA 100-70-C-0484'. Questions: Does this mean it was a C-series jacket made in 1970? Is it goatskin or cowhide? How do Brill Bros. stack up in terms of quality? Thanks in advance!
