Picked this Akubra up couple years ago in Savannah. Even though I'd seen a poor review, The Mad Hatter on River St to me seemed the perfect shop. While looking at other really nice westerns on this site, my Akubra pales in comparison. But I like it.
Bright sunshine today. Even with the "burn factor" decreasing as sun recedes to the southern hemisphere, I still gotta be careful. And it gives me another excuse to get out a favorite straw.
Dobbs San Juan 3-3/4" brim offers some good shade
Longin' for Longboat.....
Hope to be back on Longboat Key 'fore long. Especially when it's freezing up north! :D
Living on the edge.....
Chatting with the folks back home in snow country. ;)
Thanks Blare and you're right, it is quite the memory. Until recently, was in a summer favorite; a Dobbs Toledo purchased in 2005.
While helping Little Milton pick out a tune in Memphis
From one Dobbs lover to another, congrats Blare! Wish I could tell you a date, but I'm not the one to ask. I do know this one is a favorite of mine. Found in a closet once belonging to my great-grandfather. He too loved a Dobbs and I never remember seeing him without one. Probably the last one...
Gotta tell ya, I don't normally go much for blue hats. But this one is turning me around. Looks great especially on you with the shades, blue plaid shirt and smile. Nice going!
Thinking of selling my 1991 Shenandoah Hawksbill canoe. ABS Royalex hull with oak gunwales. No photos yet, but I'll let y'all know soon with price and pics.
Beautiful site. Where were you located? I'm now thinking (thanks to your post) of once again hiking into the Dolly Sods Wilderness area in West Virginia.
James Bond Martini, shaken, not stirred. Skip the gin, lemon peel (3 olives instead), and easy on the vermouth. Made with Endless Wall vodka https://www.endlesswallvodka.com/ Something new, at least to me, named after a trail in New River Gorge. This ain't no coinlicker, but truly a small batch...
I'd be confused too. Makes no sense to me why Bruno Capela would be mentioned cause it sure looks like Bailey to me. I like the style with the teardrop crown as well as color. Also inexpensive that would probably make a great beater hat. However you might have to wait until the last possible...
This month and all through Sept and Oct, the "Valley Campaign of 1864" Gen Phil Sheridan US Army of the Shenandoah, went head to head with Gen Jubal Early CSA Army of the Valley. Beginning in Jefferson County, WV and ending Oct 19th at Battle of Cedar Creek, VA. From that point on the...
Heading for the Carolina Coast  soon so thought a couple coastal brewskis might be good to set the mood. Well ok, maybe more than a couple..... :p
True enuf Boots! The idea sounds good but after reading all the info and seeing prices, can't see me jumping into this. I'm kinda lukewarm on all the micro-brews anyway and really have a hard time with all the hoppy, tutty fruity, summer/autumn/winter brews, etc. Reckon it's just my lowbrow...
