    It is funny, handling many leather jackets and many colours made me indifferent to branding. I think once you reach a certain level, you are in a good position. You just want a top end leather. Who cares about the name? Shinki and CXL vary a lot, you can get good hides from them and bad ones...

    They had a period where they did not give the option to remove the brand- when I bought my turquoise one. But they went back to allow you to specify whether you want it or not. This bigger patch was probably chosen because it was their first sample?

    Even though deer are farmed, they are still much wilder than cows. And this shows in their hides that come with much more imperfections. Printing deerskin to hide these blemishes is quite common. So it might still be deer, but the printed version.
