That jacket's already looking fantastic: I wouldn't mess with it at all. With the Picard's you're liable to wind up with some very unattractive stains and blotches. Nothing beats the natural aging process.
Hi, Art. I've been looking all over for a navy blue straw hat and, aside from Tesi, haven't found anything. Do you do any straw dying yourself these days? Also, the two Milans I got from you some time back are still going strong and are my absolute favorites. Curious though, as one has developed...
My brother and I used to wonder to which of the following entities our old man owed the most allegiance: the USA (he was born in Ireland but came over here as a kid); the Roman Catholic Church; the USMC (WWII-South Pacific); or the New York Yankees. When he passed away we were standing by his...
Several years ago I went into a belt frenzy for some reason, and after looking around for some time came across Leathergoodsconnection.com (if you check out the threads Seb mentioned you'll see my comments). They're very no-nonsense, but the leather is all top-notch and you can pretty much...
I wear linen shirts and vests at this time of year, but I haven't had a very good experience with linen pants. I have one pair of a linen-silk blend, but even they are a mess of wrinkles in the time it takes to walk from my front door to the car. The best fabric I've found is a very light cotton...
Guppy, looking at that jacket again I realize that we were married in a previous life (the jacket and me). It's only right that you let her come back to me for a fair price. Deal?
The LHB is one pf the great all-time designs. It's my one long-time keeper (2011) that I'd never part with. Mine's in brown CXL HH, but seeing that black has really got me longing for another one. Nice choice and terrific fit.
I really like the jacket as it appears now, but it's got to be fun to know it's only going to look better and better. I'd like to add that you have a great sense of style and color as well: the boots, jeans, belt, and jacket really work well together.
The minute I saw those shoes, I immediately thought of "poncho" shirts, white socks, and short black trousers. Ponchos were a style that came out in the summer of 1962 or 1963 and were brightly-colored pullover Madras shirts with a V-shaped shirt-tail. This was all the rage in the N.Y. area and...
Hi, Mich. If you haven't already done so, you might want to check out Wrangler jeans at Cavendar's, where they go for about $20.00. Nice 15 oz. denim as well. The reason I mention them is because they were my initiation into higher-rise trousers and, since then, I've found most lower-rises...
The AVI A2 Bronco that I got a few months ago fits me like a tailored jacket (thanks to Brettafett an FlightEngineer). Right now it's so hot and humid here I can't wear it outside, but I keep it on around the house because of my son's addiction to polar temps. The grain is nothing short of...
Souwestchunkies.com. If you type the name into the search function you'll find several members who have nothing but praise for them. Probably the best deal for beautiful sweaters on the planet. Or just Google them.
