That bike is great, I've often had an urge for a BSA m20, but they tend to need a fair bit of work when they come up... I'll keep looking!
The LL shop is a little aladdins den, if you have not been there its great as you can spend ages in there and Hiro is always happy to chat. If you have...
James,
That looks like a cracking Norton, what year is it? I was looking at an 18H not so long ago which was in great nick but really really slow, whilst I liked it I didnt think I would use it!!! Would love to know more about yours!
I posted this on the other thread but this is my AJS...
Agree, although I do like some of recent carrera reissues. I also have an original Heuer Monaco, which is great. No two ways about it, it was expensive and buying it was painful; but if you want an original they are still out there. A good UK based site for Heuer is...
I have a Tag Heuer Monaco and its great, in my view its pretty timeless and will remain so. I have had no issues with mine at all., its well made and I wear it at least 2 times a week ( I have a few watches).
Guess it depends on the style you want... When you buy have a look at some of the...
Thanks!!! Although, I have to beg to differ - you looked fantastic!!
I'm having a right problem with the pictures; the links keep dropping out and I'm not really sure why!!!
I hope the picture links on this work, having problems...! First time I have posted anything on here... :)
Went out on one of the bikes today...
The bike is an AJS 16M, 350... A bit (make that very!) rough round the edges but great! Everything else is:
Lewis Leathers Dominator
Cap...
I wear these just about everyday for work and they also go with pretty much any combination of trouser:
They are Grenson Fred boots, they are not cheap at all, but are very well made. There are plenty of places on the net that will sell and deliver.
Hi Poggleberry
Only just seen the pics, they look great! My friend finished fine but with no award, I'm just gutted I couldnt ride. I will certainly be on the next trial on a 56 AJS. I got it running, kind of properly, over the weekend but its now being tweaked to get a bit more 'go' out of...
You live near Wimbledon??
Get yourself to piccadilly, there are two barbour shops there and both have internationals in stock. Failing that there is a barbour shop in windsor or in the conference centre in Islington.
Yes they are genuine and they are new but as you say waxed cotton not leather. Also, those ones come with bike armour in them for riding, I just took it out, as I'd never use the jacket on any fast bikes! I actually got mine from that site, ordered it and it arrived two days later, no problems!
Yes, thats it, I was looking for it earlier and just found an advert in Classic Motorcycle. At the show I thought it looked pretty good, certainly for the price.
I have to say I prefer the Belstaff to the Barbour simply because the shoulders on the Belstaff are squarer than the Barbour...
That doesnt look bad, but its difficult to tell from the pic. I saw another copy at the classic bike show last weekend which was selling at £99.00 which I didnt think was bad and it looked ok.
That said you can get a 'new' Belstaff from here for £330.00:

I have...
I wear modern stuff on my bike too and from work, but it is a modern bike!
On the old ones I tend to wear jeans, red wings, my belstaff and a open faced helmet and goggles; it suits the bikes and they struggle to get much above 40MPH anyway!!!
Safety is the main issue to and from work...
Paddy, some of those pics are great, are they yours or just randoms?
The Velocette and Norton are great!!! I was at the Stafford classic bike show yersterday and was bidding on a velo; had a 10 grand limit as thats all I could really justify and the one I wanted went higher but there were...
How did you go?
I was meant to be om the Lands End this year but had to work very last minute, my mate did it (number 38) and we'll definetly be doing the Edinburgh later in the year. We are on bikes and hopefully I'll have the AJS into good spec for the Edinburgh.
There's a Levi shop just round the corner from my office (Covent Gdn); I'm next in on Friday so will pop out and have a look.
It is really expensive and I would have thought you would get better elsewhere. You could probably get one made for not much more!
I'm a UK size 9 and when I got my red wings (gentlemen traveller) I was a size 9, no difference and they fit well. I also have a pair of redwing bike boots and they too are size 9.
Probably doesnt help much!!!
For actually riding a bike you cant beat Altburgs. I have two pairs, one normal bke boot and one the lace up bike boots. The lace up boots are basically hiking boots that are adapted for bikes.
I rode a bike from the UK to Australia and my traditional altburg boots were worn as my only shoes...
Where on earth did this take place? I know a far few iffy places across london as I work there every day, but I have never heard anything like that!! Really strange!!
303 squadron was prodominantly Polish, and pretty fearsome by all accounts. Having said that there are also a number of accounts of them overstepping the mark in terms of aggression against enermy pilots after they had baled out...
