Looks great Terry, even taking into account it was big. Benny, your absolutely right about LW, they are pretty expensive if you have to get any customazation. I was charged extra just for 2" longer sleeves. But this is LW policy and I may not agree with it and buy Aero, Alexanderleathers, a lot...
Ok, got your point. Today I worn 3 garments under the A2, may be that's why it felt snugly Thanks for sharing. Too bad, it's too late then to wear the A2 here, it's minus 3, cold for it. But I've seen some pics on the Instagram of people wearing the A2 under a bigger jacket, cool.
Thank you for your replies, gents. It indeed looks fine, just feels a bit snug under the armholes. I hope it will relax under the armholes a bit over time.
Yes, Terry, you mentioned the zipper before that's why I asked Stu to install NOS Crown #10. Not the cheapest solution but let the best be for the best. Your right, #6 is not strong enough for such durable leather. Moreover I ordered it 4 oz.
I'm a great fan of LW jackets and consider Terry to be an expert since he has a lot of good LW jackets. His portfolio helped choose my jacket and it was Suburban. Although I very much liked the Test but I don't like the sleeve straps and didn't want to ask Stu to modify the jacket. So I decided...
I think it's 3 oz, not 2.5. 3 oz is the thinnest leather Stuart uses. Or at least around 3 oz as he stated that, the leather my Peacoat is made of and it's still stiff. I like it.
I have a Suburban on order. I'm between 42L and 44L, but I always go for a size up. For layering, roomier fit. Sure, I don't get a better look with the slimmer fit, but I prefer the versatility of a jacket.
Got my A2 yesterday. Contract 38-1711-p, dark seal Vicenza. The leather is much lighter than Horween's but still feels very durable. I ordered it at the beginning of August and waited for the Vecenza restock. I asked Denny to make it not less then my desirable lengths, so it came out ok in this...
I also have a problem with fraying lining on my cafe racer. I think it's due to the very slim fit. The lining is cotton. Durable thick Aero's cotton, but still... I have my boots resoled at times, so I think I'll have to have my jackets re-lined sometimes:-) Say, every 5 or 10 years, I dunno...
