Thanks @Will Zach & @Tom71 , that's what I'd assumed. For now I'm mostly sniffing around the used stuff, don't want to bother Stu if I'm not going to buy a jacket from him.
Thanks @ton312! You’re around a 44 in most Vanson as well right? I’ve never tried a LW, but have had the itch for a while, it’s a good bit worse now. And congrats @mendelboaz , that thing looks absolutely amazing!
I think maybe a more apt comparison is filson tin cloth, or barbour, etc. That, plus a modern fit is a pretty nice jacket. Probably not $550 nice for me at least, but they seem to sell a lot of them.
It's a bit modern, but an arc teryx delta lt pullover takes up very little room, and is extremely warm for it's weight. I've been wearing that, and a merino t shirt under a close fitting schott 689h(with quilted lining) and have been quite warm in mid twenties. Patagonia R1 pullover would be...
We’re already there. Ditching the leather on this morning’s dog walk in favor of down. The late winter months are definitely the worst because it’s almost over.
Nice! I lived on 12th and Avenue A for most of the nineties, then further south, and finally Brooklyn before I left a couple years ago. Different world than when you were there, and neither of us would recognize it now.
Sounds like a great spot, enjoy it brother! But if you were a NY guy you probably understand where I'm coming from, even the seagulls at Rockaway are up to no good!
@jonesy86 the rockaway beach surfer in me gets nervous/paranoid every time I see one of your jackets on the beach, unattended. Can you paddle out there without worry about your stuff? The beach(and the jacket)looks amazing.
I agree with @Psant25 , and would guess that the half size down from brannock, is the sweet spot for most PNW boots. It’s been the same for me for both wescos and whites, I bet Nicks is similar. At some point I need to give them a shot, the new moc toes look great.
