Hi there!
I am after a pitch-black selvedge denim jacket, perhaps a Type 3 style but also like chore-jacket style.
I looked at Tellason, but that's no longer in stock in my size.
I looked at Rogue with their classic James Bond jacket but in black denim, but the measurements are all messed up on...
And we are back from the leather tailor ... He cut quite a bit off the gut, now it sits good I think!
I am officially a Schott fanboy... This horsehide is off the charts. Super shiny, stands out.
So, I am after something like these Ariats.
They have that white work roofer sole but they aren't moc-toe like the rest, but more of an allen edmonds fashion type, which I like.
These are out of production, is there a company besides Thursday making this style of boot?
Musts are full grain...
I actually remembered you when I put it on!!! It's got a huge gut, like it was made for a really burly biker. So strange given it is only 25" and supposed to be "fitted"
Anyway, I put in another 150 to have it cut plus conditioning (30) . Still worth it since it's pretty unique style with the...
I was thinking about that, but you could literally fit another body inside the gut of this jacket. Unless jackets also shrink while breaking? I wouldn't know as I only started wearing them recently.
Well after getting inspiration from the China thread, I found this cowhide on Ali Express
One piece back, vintage design (although I don't care for the pocket cross seams) and YKK zippers... Interesting if it turns out OK!
Going by the size chart I am 4XL, and will perhaps have to alter it at...
Yes! Will post new pics.
The picture actually looks ok because the leather is stiff, but the entire rear is flared outwards at the waist from being too big (the gut of these 689H is oversized, the 44 has a 48 gut)
I immediately took it to my moto jacket guy to have it cut at the gut... He will...
Hi folks!! Got my sz 44 Schott. 689
I am 6'3 200lbs
This is my shortest jacket hence the question, it just covers the belt and thats it, not an inch under covering the belt.
My other jackets are going 1 inch below covering the belt hence my low confidence
The problem with a thousand jackets is that you become that guy.... People will tell you're pathological because although you will look nice, you lose that surprise/variety factor. There is a sense of "this guy is concerned with himself to an interesting degree"
Let me give you an example...
So, a new stock Aero/bilt is circa 800-1000$ and it's made to fit your body.
Yet, I see ebayers pricing their used Aero jackets with often bad zippers and faults, for 650-750$ and THEY SELL!
Schotts have a much better used market for newcomers, but are limited to black jackets.
Where I come...
Hi there!
Searching for horween belts in black and tan, I came across Coronado and Schott... They look really nice and have cool buckles.
They charge about 130$ (coronado horsehide horween) and 85$ (schott steer horween) for their casual horween belts.
Would you say that they are good options...
Hi there!
I was wondering if there was an off-the-rack company that makes a simple half belt jacket with a rather aggressive taper. Something like 24" pit to 20" hem or similar.
I already have a schott 689H on the way that is advertised as having an aggressive V taper, but schott doesn't make...
Nice!
I checked out the Tornados, they indeed look better and still modest at around 120$.
HOWEVER the sizing is so non-standard. 28" sleeves in my desired size XL (I need 25.5" at XL)
Super strange!
I have a few bags/backpacks made of chinese waxed canvas and they look great besides being stiffer than their western counterparts (but that can be cool as long as you wear a lightweight T shirt)...
I might go ahead and bite on one of those shirts, see how they work. Surely they can't screw up...
Hi there!
So yes, we all know about the US brands of waxed canvas button shirts but have anyone tried the chinese 45$ Maden Amekaji waxed canvas shirts sold on ebay/ali express?
Surely it won't be as well detailed, but is it passable for the price? The pictures sure look nice.
Wondering if...
