It was with a lot of hesitancy, but my Sheene belongs to the ages now. It just never fit me quite right, but I know it needs to be worn and showcased. Going to someone who I believe is going to crush it.
I know it's a long shot, lots of used Perfectos out there for crazy cheap prices. But if...
I think you can comfortably keep it. It is well within range of looking and fitting good. My notes were more to "future proof" the jacket some. But looks great and definitely not worth all that hassle to add a little bit here and there.
If we were a little bit closer in measurement, I might have a ship load of jackets coming my way.
I have the same minimalist thoughts lately even though I've added crazy amount of stuff these past few months. But I'm also seeing what is getting worn and what isn't now that we are in the cold...
This might be a phenomena of having way too many jackets, but I'm finding if I need certain "scenarios" to wear them, they don't get worn. i.e. I can only wear this jacket with this pair of pants, or I can only wear it with these shoes to match, or this is when I want to wear thick sweater...
So I tried to take best pics I could without any filters and all that. Anyone who has ever owned cxl knows it's hard to do because the color changes for various reasons.
The sheene measurement:
Ptp 22.25
Shoulder 18.25
Sleeve 26
Back 25, small front drop maybe .75 to 1
Bottom hem 19.5
Of...
Can provide detailed pics and measurements to anyone interested. Generally speaking, I'd say the Sheene fits like a true 40 and the Schott fits closer to 42.
Looking to diversify the closet some. I bought both these jackets new, so the thought of taking a $500 loss on each just because is...
on the racer, easy fix. There's an elastic band that runs across the back which provides the tug to keep everything together. The elastic either wore out or came off. Any seamstress worth their salt can replace. In fact you can do yourself without causing too much damage. I'd suggest...
have you tried Bronson for N1? It's Asian sizing, so it tends to run small. Make sure to account for all the lining vs. your usual jacket sizing. Also, I bought one last year and I was able to shrink mine about a full size by washing and putting the hot dryer...
Size down 2 in 141 if you want a snug fit. I had a size 40 with a 42 chest and a tailor took out a good chunk of material to get it snug.
I didn't own 641, but because of the gussets, I bet you can size down 1 for snug fit or tts for a regular fit.
These are if you're buying new. No idea on...
jacket is so nice, but I got a feeling it will fit me the same way. We close on weight, but mine is dad bod LOL. So more in the stomach. Someone going to get a beautiful jacket here, but I need probably another .75 in the ptp and a lot more on the bottom hem.
GLWS
wow, this one is super nice. We chatted few times last year about some other jackets, I think a Hooch Hauler and maybe a Field Leather. You were like 10-15lbs lighter than me, so doubt this is going to fit me. But I can still dream. you got any fit pics from when it still fit you and...
I think the fashion world calls these "bombers", basically the knit waist, collar, and sleeves. I've seen suede jackets with the knits referred that way too. Most "jacket" people refer to bombers as the shearling type jackets, B3, RAF, etc. Or at least I do. And then "flight" jackets are...
I had the Schott version of this which is pretty much a direct copy. You're right, this is a pretty good price for this jacket, especially since it has its tags, original zipper, etc. The leather quality seems to vary a lot. The brown version I had was nowhere near as grainy as some of the...
Taylor Stitch is having a pretty good sale on some last call items. Lots of jackets. I find the general quality to be somewhere above Banana Republic and Buck Mason. One of those brands that's probably not worth it at full price, but once you start getting around the 40% off point, there's...
nature is no joke. I'm guessing that's CXL, it must have been like rock hard fiberglass in that kind of cold weather.
When I was getting into photography, I spent a few days in Paige and Zion about a decade ago. Amazing trip. I went to the Indian sandstone slot creeks and horseshoe bend in...
denim vest or jacket? Love this look. Been seeing it pop up on IG a few times lately. I guess works well with a bulkier jacket so you can layer on top of the denim. It's funny because most of my IH denim shirts are thicker than my other brand jackets from RRL and Bravestar. So I guess I can...
