Admittedly I'm not a fan of these Logan's claws pleats (maybe they look better if they're flattened due some wear, as seen on originals, or you can hammer it down to speed up the process, lol) the heavy leather isn't my thing either, but I can say a fantastic jacket in terms of workmanship and...
Thank you! In fact, the basic construction of the jackets is the same. They are both d-pocket cross-zipped jackets but with some different details on the front and on the back. I made both jackets as a daily wearer. For riding I have a Protech Trojan style (from which I copied the 5star Trojan)...
Thank you. I can't say for sure because I don't have a gauge to measure it but I guess 1.2 mm for the Roadmaster, as I spec for and 1.4 mm for the Trojan.
I would like to share some infos about my fully custom made 5Star Leather Jackets, I got recently:
Left, Roadmaster in black waxed Steerhide, weight 2.6 kgs (5.75 lbs)
Right, Trojan in seal brown Steerhide, weight 2.9 kgs (6.4 lbs)
For both Jackets I opted for a grainy Leather. Both shows a...
After having had very good experiences with my road master d-pocket jacket, I decided to order a re-make of my Protech "Trojan" leather jacket (which I wear for motorcycling) from 5Star Leather so that I have a "Trojan" on a daily basis. I am more than satisfied with the result.
Waxed...
To the OP question: absolutely!
I have had so many clothes in the past that there is no such thing as a "holy grail" jacket for me and therefore my tolerance for waiting for something has dropped to practically zero.
No Leather today, Tuxedo (double Denim) MF Ranch Blouse x Levis LVC 1944 both in NOS Cone Mills Denim
and a HTX x Irregular Western Belt to set some Bling-Bling
That was the reason why I immediatetly resold mine. I had the same feeling with my Y'2 HR-55 also this plastic feeling. This jacket has also found its way to a new owner.
I don't think the seam on the back will bother while wearing the jacket (as far as I can tell it's a flat french seam). Basically it can be said the more panels are used in a jacket, the less large area and the more expensive panels have to be used. In vintage models, both back sections can be...
Due to the unfavorable photos (hanging shirt, shooting angle), it is difficult to make a statement about the fit. The style is a matter of taste, both Jackets are cool (J-24 and Grizzly). The black x white J-24 is no doubt sensitive when it comes to dirt, but that's what counts in the end, it's...
Nice Joe McCoy Deadwood! I used to have one in black but decided to sell it because I felt, I'm not the 1970's jacket type. But I have to say, the jacket had an excellent cut and fit perfectly. Looks great on you.
Nice jacket, congratulations. Although I'm not a Vanson expert (there are some more knowledgabe members in this forum) I would actually date the jacket in their early days because of the label. Unless the jacket feels dry or stiff, I personally wouldn't do anything to the jacket, maybe rub it...
