Freewheelers vs. The Real McCoys vs. Vanson Cross Zip Jackets

Looks amazing on you! May I ask what is your height and chest size? I’m 5,8 40” chest and wondering if a 38 would fit me. Found a size chart on a Japanese site. A 38 might be a bit tight Im not sure.

Freewheelers vs. The Real McCoys vs. Vanson Cross Zip Jackets

I don’t normally pay too much attention to off the rack jackets as most are too long for me. But it seems like this vanson could work as we share similar height and chest size. But the product pictures don’t look nearly as good as Jake’s pictures. Are the early versions better?

Freewheelers vs. The Real McCoys vs. Vanson Cross Zip Jackets

This makes me want to get a vanson c2. It looks so badass. Anyone know how does the new c2s compare to the older ones in terms of hide and fit? I have checked out their website but they look kind of different. It seems they are cut longer in the body and the sleeves don’t look as trim?

Footwear to go with our jackets

Shoutout to Rizky at Onderhoud. Just received the engineer remake made with the Maryam 1071 Horsebutt overdye black. The leather on the first pair I received was bad. Grain was really loose on the left boot across the entire vamp as soon as I put it on. This second pair seems to be much better...

    vicenza horsehide or badalassi cowhide?

As I’m new to the jacket game I have always wanted to try out aero’s bread and butter Horween FQHH. However the badalassi makes it difficult to justify getting one. I figure it’s pretty hard to beat. Maybe I will get a used fqhh when one in my size pops up.

Flame Panda boots - new orders accepted and waiting time?

Congratulations. Beautiful boots! It normally takes me about 2-3 months to fully break in a pair of Flame pandas. It really is no fun at the beginning. I found the reason why these boots are so robust and heavy. It is because of the lining leather. I bought a pair from him recently with no...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I have always been very interested in stuff from Ooe Yofukuten. I think I have a similar build and preference on jeans as you do. Waist around 31-32”, thigh at least 13.2” leg opening around 9”. and your Ooe look like they fit perfectly. May I ask what’s the best way to purchase them and how do...

Footwear to go with our jackets

Flame Panda put out another batch of rtw and I found another pair in my size. They are in tan Horween CXL Tan. Oh man these are chunky. I was expecting to go through the signature not so fun break in period of a pair of flame pandas but it came as a surprise that these boots are unlined. They...

Advice for total newbie living in China

If the parcel is sent by DHL then it is an easy process. DHL will send you an email to pay then the parcel will be released soon after. However if the jacket’s value is declared fully it will be hefty. Better to go with the Chinese distributor in that case. For EMS (China Post) it’s a bit more...

Advice for total newbie living in China

He does. It is based in Shanghai. You can contact him through taobao (search for his webshop 武装战线 or I could pass his WeChat or email to you to schedule a visit. He has some Otr patterns and jackets from other customers you can try on. His turnaround time is actually pretty quick. Normally a month.

Advice for total newbie living in China

Tony doesn’t have any wool linings. The standard lining he uses is similar to cotton twill but with some elasticity. Nothing fancy but it works. I think he also does some kind of quilted lining and Harris tweed. Also imo light weight Locharron Tartans don’t really provide extra warmth. It’s...

Two New Jackets Review - Aero Premier HB & Tony Leathers Crosszip

Thanks very much for the kind words! Yes it would be better without the pleats I agree but it doesn’t bother me too much. Makes it a little different to other jackets I own.

Advice for total newbie living in China

Tbf a lot of vintage repel brands (Western and Japanese) are sold by reputable shops on Taobao. Really not that much of a need to import unless you are looking for something really specific. And price will be similar after shipping.

Two New Jackets Review - Aero Premier HB & Tony Leathers Crosszip

Thanks for the kind words! They both have a 22 p2p and are comfortable even with layering with a thick jumper. However the aero has a much narrower shoulder it certainly feels a tad more restrictive. Also I find the seems of both of my Aeros are quite wavy which my Tony jackets arent Makes...
