Thanks Greg. I have no clue but would imagine late 50s to early 60s. I just did a simple crease with some light steam, as the felt is western weight. Really great hat in so many ways!
Been meaning to post photos of this one for a while. Took a day home from work with the flu to finally to do so. Thanks to Greg @Bamaboots for the heads up on this beauty!
Miller Western Wear Four X:
Thanks for all of the nice comments on the OR. I'm looking forward to this one! I will post photos of this along with another recent find as soon as I can find some free time.
Bumping this thread just for kicks.
I have a Stetson 100 that I have gradually creased more and more like Mr. Truman's Open Roads. These are some older photos but I will try to post updated photos soon.
I have to admit the more I research the Peters Bros Shady Oak the more confused I get. I have one that is a “Bankers Special “ and another that is a Shady Oaks Forty (noted on the sweat as 5X). I do not have ready access to the Bankers Special, but it is a western weight with two cord ribbon...
I have two examples of the Stetson Shady Oak sold by Washer Bros. in Fort Worth, and a couple of western weight Peters Bros. Shady Oaks with the two cord ribbon. I have had no luck determining what date Peters Bros. began production of their Shady Oak.
