Hello everyone,
Hat is in great condition!
Let me know what you have to trade, I wear a 7 1/4 - 7 3/8 and am hoping to trade for something I can wear. Happy to sell it too if someone really wants it, but trades are preferable.
Wow. I really can't see it! Can you point out the differences between the two hats above? Also, do you have a picture of the hatband uncut, I'm looking through the forums for a good example.
I just looked at my 5X, 7X, and 3Xs and I feel like I'm just not seeing it. They look the same to me..
At different light angles, you can read 3X Beaver Quality above the crest, which makes sense. It feels EXACTLY like my two others in stiffness and is very easy to mold.
I'm curious about the hatband. Side-by-side, it looks just like my wife's mid-50s hatband. Same fold, feel, cut length and...
I was going to wait to give all the answers, but this is too fun.
Here is the bow, my guess is it’s likely not original and was replaced with the sweatband. My wife’s hat is pictured next, very different bow, but has the exact same reorder tag and a similar block number, 102 vs. C102!
Agreed on most fronts!
50s Resistol made a lot of sense and clearly the sweatband has been replaced. No specific markings on the sweatband to help either.
I’ll send a pic of the bow when I get home, it looks cut.
Before you throw out Stetson, here are some fun pictures:
Mystery hat that's too big for me! I bought it for my dad and it arrived today. I did some work to try and identify it - found some very welcome surprises!
Check out my "Forensics" post and have some fun trying to figure it out...
Hello Everyone!
Many of us have been there: find a great looking hat, but the liner/sweatband have been replaced and the seller has no information - do I just go for it and enjoy the hat?
Well, I was wading through the Bay looking for a hat for my dad (he's a 7 1/2) and stumbled across a...
Good morning everyone,
I have been experimenting with styling hats for my wife. This is a Stetson 3X Beaver Open Road, size 7. She expressed that wearing the hat low on her forehead or near her ears makes the style feel uncomfortable. Since her hat ideally is to be worn at an angle away from...
My wife has a small waxed-cotton raincoat we found at a vintage shop a while ago and she never wears it because of what you say, not warm in the slightest! I can imagine one campfire-side night and it would smell forever, thanks for the tips!
That's my favorite hat to go out with a casual outfit. It's soft and just has a more casual feel to it. Hard to describe exactly why that is, but it's easily the most versatile one I have.
Yours looks great, I'll have to try it with an open crown next time I'm out.
Hello everyone!
Can we get some consensus on what kind of trench 2/3 of the bad dudes from the opening of Once Upon a Time in the West were wearing? I'd like to have one, and I'm sure some of you would too!
It's a darn shame Charles Bronson didn't grab one from one of his recently...
