Bally has been in the leather business for many years and their quality is first rate. I have a Bally lamb jacket and, while it is not as hearty or robust as a HH jacket, it is nevertheless a stellar garment. That said, I haven't worn it in years because my preferences have changed.

The list is endless. We all have our subjective...
The notion that sneakers should be built like work boots is nonsensical. Sneakers are the antithesis of work boots. Sneakers are intended to be comfortable -- work boots, not so much. I have worn sneakers with leather insoles -- they are much less comfortable and I abandoned them long ago...
First and foremost, the jacket looks great!
The first thing that jumped out at me was the french seams. My Buco does not have french seams and I have never seen french seams on a Buco. I am not saying this is not a genuine Buco -- I have no idea.
Maybe you can send the photos to Dave...
Fantastic information is this thread -- my compliments to the invaluable contributions from many different members, including @lina in particular.
Regardless of the name attributed to the jacket -- "a rose by any other name . . ." -- one thing is abundantly clear: the popularity of the Cafe...
I thought the brown label reflected a jacket manufactured by someone who licensed the Buco name after Buco went BK, or someone who purchased Buco post BK, or something like that (I can’t remember). Am I mistaken? Am I confusing the brown labels with some other label? When were the brown label...
We will have to agree to disagree.
The Buco J-100 is not the product of a single mention buried within a single, obscure book that is read almost exclusively by jacket enthusiasts. Likewise, the popularity of the Buco J-100 did not begin in "the 2020's," as you incorrectly suggest. To the...

FWIW, I prefer the look of cross-zips -- and sometimes even complicated cross-zips -- ON OTHER PEOPLE. When I scan photos of...
I am a fan of both original Bucos and CR repros. Repros have definite advantages, including customization and superior construction. That said, original Bucos have one thing that no repro has: an integral role in the history and evolution of leather jackets, and motorcycle jackets in...
Thanks for the info. Given how infrequently I wear my existing leather jackets -- no more than 4-5 times per year each -- I am reluctant to add yet another. If I do, it might be a LW or Thedi.
