What about these?
I love Henley’s, they’re my favorite pullover. Duofold made an amazing Henley with a cotton interior and wool exterior. I loved those shirts.
The wool outside kept you warm, and the cotton inside kept me from overheating.
I know cotton is a terrible base layer for winter, it holds moisture and...
I really like how you’ve tacked the cuffs into place. :)
If you enjoy sewing heavier fabric and leather, having a sailers palm, and/or a Handistitch Sewing Awl, are both fantastic tools.
I hate wearing shorts, myself, but I VERY often pair my MC jackets with jeans and flip flops!
(Edit!) and...
Any places in or around New York City that repair leather jackets in a way that’s durable enough for motorcycle leathers? I have a USAMade Co. with a small hole in the shoulder I’d like patched up, that’s strong enough to hold up to road rash.
Oh, it’s not clothing it’s “art” ♂️
“Based in New York City, we are a vintage clothing company specializing in unique garments with distressing, character, and a history.
Started by Abe, a Carolina kid, sumshitifound vintage often showcases the kind of denim, workwear, and farmwear that...
It’s very likely Kersey. As I understand it, the Navy began accepting some contracts for Melton coats in ‘74, but they weren’t totally changed over until 1980. So you have very good odds of getting a Kersey.
But even on the slight chance that this is Melton, it will still be the heavier weight...
It came!
The bad first, the wool liner is in rough shape, there are both more, and larger, holes that didn’t make it into the photos.
but that aside it’s GREEN!
The ad didn’t mention color and I thought it was a black jacket taken in weird garage lighting conditions, or that it might be...
One of the best entrances into the Lounge, a custom horsehide Vanson right out of the gate! Can I ask what drew you to the pinnacle over the other horse hide options? I’ve never had or even handled horse hide, how did they compare to each other?
The beat up Vanson Swedish Dispatch I snagged from the bay should be in on Friday, to round out my little collection.
The Tan Vanson needs me to lose some weight to fit into, the black HG fits great and this incoming one is a about a size and a half too big, but I’m betting it will work out...
For 30 bucks just buy it. A Navy issue pea coat in a size 46 that’s pre-Quarterdeck era are as rare as hens teeth. You could sell it for $60.00 if you don’t like it, double your investment, and whoever bought it for $60 would still be getting a smoking deal on a super nice pea coat.
The US made Co is thicker, but the California Leather Creations is no slouch. The USMade is thicker than my Vanson’s. Not as dense and hard, but I’m sure a caliper would show the USMCo has the thickest hide.
The CLCre. is plenty thick and heavy duty, it’s a real biker jacket for sure. The...
Couple of thoughts…
First is that the arrow in your picture, pointing to the “problem” collar, is the one spreading like most people are trying to make there collar. The collar in your picture without the arrow, is doing more of a shirt collar thing. If you like the shirt collar bend, hang it...
I've had Vanson do a wash and condition of a track suit for me. It needed some holes repaired and the wrists needed to be taken in.
The suit didn't smell, but the leather needed conditioning.
I was happy to pay to get the leather into track ready condition.
I've also cleaned and conditioned my...
