I used to have a good ol' mall fit A-2 in the late 90s. One that I won at a computer convention. Yes I coveted wearing it but over time I learned better what looked good on me and what good fit was.
I recently saw this online and it reminded me of that old jacket.

Historically, I think the A-2 became a jacket with a preferred looser fit as it was worn as a top layer over scarves and vests due to high altitude flights in the cold.

When it comes to detailing, I think it's very comparable to what you see from most other companies working to put out a mil-spec a2 of the time. It's not a copy of any particular company. It has all the right details.

Back in the early days of the Lounge, Fedoras were very rare to be seen on any head around town. The world has changed. Even in the media… there are more shows on TV today that showcase leeds wearing hats than there have been in the last 30 years.
