    I use the iron to push the crease down from the outside the brim. Never tried it this way.

    If you don't have a tool to curl it with, take a steam iron and iron the curl in by folding the edge as you go along. Easy to do.

    I think a Rabbit and Beaver mix is the best and most durable. But Beaver feels nice and is easy to work with.

    Tom Hirt made many hats for Sam Elliot. He told me that the shape of his head caused the dip of his brim.

    I know their hats are high quality. I just don't like their Josey Wales hat because it doesn't look like the one in the movie. The one in the movie didn't have a ribbon on it.

    Try Winchester Hats for blanks. 5% beaver to 100%. Most of the top hat makers use them. Nice people too.

    Here is the "Captain Call" I made for a friend who was working at the Lonesome Dove Reunion here in Ft. Worth last year. You might recognize the two men with him. Both were in "Longmire", and A. Martinez (on left) was in "The Cowboys" with John Wayne as well as many other films.

    I think all those vintage hats belonged to kids or young adults who out grew them. That is why I don't take orders on vintage hats. Too hard to find the size and color the client wants.
