Really pleased with this. Original receipt is clocked 1960. Tan body, light brown 6 ply ribbon band, forest green binding. A spectacle of my collection.
Loving everything from the dimensions down to the stitch.
Turns out I'm moving across the country this summer and I cant take everything with me so in an effort to lighten my load and afford expenses I am starting to list some of my collection. For your consideration...

A later 7xcb with a square black size tag. Very light weight and thin felt, also on the stiffer side. Took some steam to reshape as it came as a telescope crown. I felt the need to show off the crown height, so here we are with a higher pinch/teardrop. I’m a big fan of the dimensions on this one...
It won’t allow me to change my shipping to international at this point in the auction. I’m assuming you are located outside of the US? If so & you do end up bidding/ winning I would be happy to work something out so that you can receive the item. Thank you again!
Just my opinion here with the description! The finish on the felt is definitely of higher quality, smoother and softer to the touch, than the 50s Royal Stetsons I have. I find this quality of felt to better resemble that “clay” like feeling we seek in a high quality hat. Dense with some weight...
Alan, thank you for taking some time to check them out and confirming some speculations! I just found a page in this forum where you mentioned LOT # dating. A huge help along with this. Hope you are doing well and again, many thanks! Happy to have your approval!
All good on the mess up- I knew what you meant. Thanks Ross!! I do like the profile of this one a bunch. The bash seems to have been this way for a while judging by the definition of the crease when popped out. I have no intentions of changing it either! Gotta keep that crown nice and tall haha...
Thanks guys! I feel a little crazy acquiring all of these in such a short time. I'd suspect that typically these finds/buys take time. Regardless, I'm beyond happy to have these and even happier to wear them out!
Recently received this one in the mail all the way from Sweden. Originally purchased in New York, this it’s a really nice nutria quality western that has withstood the test of time. There’s a small moth nibble that goes unnoticed due to the striking build of this hat. Based on what I could find...
Hello all,
I was hoping to bring this hat back to life as a project but I figured there’s someone out there who can probably do it better than me and actually wear it as it does not fit me.
size 7- measurements are
L: 8”
W: 6 3/8”
purple mark on tip of crown
It needs a cleaning, new...
Thanks man!!
Yeah that’s about what I said when I came across it!
Wow, this definitely puts some weight on this lid. Thanks man. I’m very happy with the find!
Here ya go!
Thank you Ross! Yessir. It’s pretty crispy indeed! I steamed the sucker up and gave it a good cleaning. The interior...
New addition to my collection. Very impressed by the liner on this one. Assuming it’s a late 30’s/ early 40’s or so? Someone weigh in if you’d like. Anyway, it’s a nice one!
