Thanks, Greg.
Wouldn’t the wire make the brim more obedient, and therefore the reshaping easier? Or (now I think about it) is it difficult to remove the kinks?
This 10X Stetson Shantung showed up on the local auction site. The big brim appeals for a summer barbecue hat. However, I’ve never done reshaping with a straw hat? How much of a challenge would it be to get this into shape?
As a barbecue hat, the stains are less of an issue, but any advice on...
Celebrating midsummer Christmas over here in Japan…not Japan, this is a purely Shoe household tradition.
We started with Minoh Beer, an excellent Stout for me and a Pilsner for Etsuko.
The presents? Arran Sherry Cask and Arran Quarter Cask for Etsuko. Balvenie DoubleWood and (my favourite)...

Don’t be a stranger during your travels. I have thoroughly enjoyed your posts, and look forward to seeing your adventures on Fedoras Afield. Enjoy it to the utmost, and may your health not only hold up, but improve during your trip.

Later it was wings on the grill under my barbecue hat, the Akubra Cattleman. Too hot for outdoor cooking, but I couldn’t help myself. The chook was pretty darn good, though.
Nope. It’s still there. I couldn’t see it at first, but when I did a search it came up in both the regular and deluxe. Only in Moonstone size 59 & 60 for the deluxe and size 56 tawny fawn for the regular, though.

I just bought my second Schott. I now have a cross zip with a cafe racer on the way. No plans for a third quality leather jacket, but I might just save up for a Rainbow Country. The leather just looks so stunningly good.
