thanks for the in depth info @Monitor and @Don in Indiana USA
I have better picture of the lining mount on those.
i wonder what chemical used in dry cleaning, diluted wash benzene/ diluted zippo lighter fluid?
about salt I think it is not the salt itself but how salt absorb humidity and...
yeah, before being mentioned here in this thread I didn't know it has removable liner, of course with removable liner then it is non issue about hygiene, from the motorcycle theme I kind of see they are bulky and make a lot of sense since they are having a removable liner, but the leather pants...
the waist drawstring is on our true waistline (approximately if the jacket bought more or less in our true size) so when cinched it will give a nice taper toward the waist and hemline, but it would wrinkle alot, I'm curious how it looks on leather
they work as a small team, the guy who took my order is the one who make pattern out of my drawing and cut, there is a also female employee who sew, 2 other guys who install hardware, and a lady supervisor who manage them, the owner was rarely in contact with the client. thanks man :)
this is lovely, I love my current cheap m65 repro, my most worn jacket this past month. I don't know if leather will over power the waist and hem cords and or would crumple weirdly when the waist cord is adjusted, what works on much thinner fabrics doesn't always translate well on superlative...
wow this vid shows type 2 denim jacket being made from patterning to finish in real time, best movie I have seen this year, I realize just a simple innocent request of 2 tones thread colors, or 2 different gauge threads would have made triple investment in sewing machines and perhaps manpower to...
i can collect the patterns of my old jackets though, and I told him if he moves on working with another workshop or open his own tailor to give me news, and perhaps I can learn to scale my patterns, since I have suggested to them multiple times to scale my patterns and sell them in standardized...
it's not likely that I will ever have another custom leather jacket like I had enjoyed in past 10 yrs, since this workshop in my city that has been in business for more than 30 yrs is closing due to the owner losing money from perhaps another business venture, I heard this from the guy who...
I actually like the back shoulder gusset, and I like the rivets on the front pleats as I did the same when ordering a custom type 2 denim jacket here in my country, i just don't like the straight boxy body it makes people look barrel shaped, perhaps this is a nod to chore coat aesthethic? I see...
if there is only one jacket that works for all at least style wise, then it is a buttoned leather jacket for me, perhaps a leather trucker in special color that I won't get bored probably dark sage green that once the the base leather color darkens it would evolve into olive brown green
when I was a kid I always dream to wear high riding boots with series of tabs and buckles on the side like old motorcross boots, I love Fist of The North Star manga and they all wore those boots in post apocalyptic setting.
I agree, I think the point is how we look stylish while doing activities, so perhaps even when you want to do a little bit of working keep wearing "the classic" workwear look just don't wear your most superlative artisans version of such boots instead wear another engineer/ work boots that you...
isn't it a bit noisy, when brushing against each other ? I think that is the biggest minus, it is a very comfy hot weather pants, absorbs moisture well and quickly disperses it to dry, I hope it can fade into mellower tones on exposed areas to have a bit more character to it.
how do you think of cotton ripstop fabrics as pants? my new fatigue pants is from cotton ripstop, I like how easy wearing and breathy the material is, and while being lightweight and thin yet feels durable and abrasive resistant on its surface, it collects creases like normal cotton pants...
