I really like that 1917! Just got a .455 myself, Lee dies have arrived, waiting for Starline brass to get here. Also found out that the HKS speedloaders for .45 Colt or .44 Special/Magnum will work with the .455.
Well fellow Gun Cranks, it has arrived! Been thoroughly cleaned and oiled, in the 12XXX series, S&W Triple Lock in .455 Webley. Shipped to a Hardware store in St Louis in 1917.
Some of you may remember three years ago I thought I had purchased a S&W Triple Lock, then discovered it was a 2nd Model. Well, today I won an auction for a genuine Triple Lock! Will take a bit for it to arrive from Texas, but I am stoked! I have spent a good many years trying to acquire my 5...
Mister Cairo, welcome to this hangout! Those little Savages have a wonderful reputation for accuracy. You will discover that .22s will love some types of ammo, and hate others. CCI usually seems to run well in anything. Shoot well!

I am so pleased right now. Just finished up a project that has taken several years, getting a September 1917 US Army 1911 back to correct configuration. Finally found an un-molested slide, it has been arsenal parkerized, but is absolutely correct for the frame.
I agree on the rail's aesthetic detracting from the classic looks and was glad to see the screws so that it could be removed. "An elegant weapon for a more civilized time"
Nice match up, my Luger is a 1915. Yours would be correct with either the black or brown holsters from then. If you haven't tried the MecGar magazines, they work great and Wolff still makes spring kits for them. Mine runs well on the WWB FMJ stuff in the bulk packs.
Even as a South Sider Sox fan I have to admit I do love Wrigley Field and hope to visit Fenway some day. And yeah, the NL Central is gonna be a dogfight the rest of the year! Go Cards!
